Welcome to the Frozen Nerdz Podcast Episode 29 entitled BlizzCon Preppers, Bro! We are your Blizzard Entertainment and Steam Free to Play discussion podcast. Each week we discuss anything that falls in between or outside those two glaciers. From talking about the games you love, the worlds you live in, AND maybe even a few you haven’t even heard of yet. Join Kilroy and Epicinsanity each week as we sit down and discuss the topics no one else is talking about as we bring you new points of view in a not so standard podcast format.
The show was recorded live on Sunday, September 14th, 2014. And was released on Tuesday, September 16th, 2014.
On Today’s episode we talk shortly about our weeks inside video games. But before we get too carried away we drop a basic campfire and talk about some World of Warcraft news. Patch 6.0 is on the public test realms, and Lords of War Durotan video has been released! Then we jump right into our main discussion topic of the day BlizzCon tips & tricks! Then we head over to the Starcade to talk about this weeks Blizzard Arcade free to play game called Ice Baneling Escape! Then we pull up a chair and quickly talk about Hearthstone eSports rankings. Then we sit back and stay awhile and look at another amazing Diablo 3 community creation! Then we move onto the Steam Room where we discuss this weeks Free to Play action adventure game called The Expendabros. But then we dig deep inside our Icebox and find that there is nothing there! We wrap up the show we thanking those people who supported the show this week on Twitter and then we say our weekly goodbyes. So sit back, relax and enjoy Episode 29 of the Frozen Nerdz Podcast.

Frozen Nerdz’ BlizzCon Tips:
Before BlizzCon –
Download the BlizzCon App & Plan what you are going to see.
If flying, make sure you know what can & can’t go on the plane (Carry On’s vs Check luggage). For TSA info, go here!
Print off double copies of everything. One in your check luggage, one for your carry on. Don’t risk it.
Pack anything you may need while traveling in your carry on. Meds, wallet/purse, ID’s, paperwork, etc.
Vitamins, vitamins, vitamins. Water, water, water. Get a flu shot, get your immune system up.
Things to Buy/Have – Comfortable shoes (Lots of walking), Hand Sanitizer (Lots of germs), EmergenC, Vitamins, battery pack for your phone.
Don’t want to give your number to a bunch of random people: GroupMe, Kik apps, Voxxer. — Download ahead of time.
During BlizzCon –
Plan Ahead – Know where you need to go, and where you need be at what time.
Data coverage is horrible — WiFi’s not always free, doesn’t always have a good connection. 30,000 people with phones in a small area makes cell reception horrible.
Drink water. Carry a small water bottle with you.
Food costs money. Small snacks. Granola bars, pop tarts, etc.
If you plan to drink at night, make sure you hydrate before you go to bed. Being hangover makes things even more ridiculous.
Small bag/purse/backpack. Somewhere to keep all your swag, gear and water/snacks.
Manners. Ask nicely for things. Ask a cosplayer if its ok to take a picture with them. Ask if its ok to touch them, or their costume. Be polite.
Wash your hands! 30k people, 30k different chances of getting sick. Wash your hands. Hand sanitizer.
Never accept a drink if you haven’t watched it being made.
Travel in groups, and let people know where you are going.
Personal hygiene is not an option. It’s a requirement. Shower.
Before You Leave:
Tip the housekeeper. After all, they cleaned up after you all week. Leave a personalized note thanking them for taking care of you. Be nice. Do something!
Kilroy’s Ultimate BlizzCon Tip – Don’t look or smell like a serial killer.
