This past week, Mike Morhaime and Pete Stillwell sat down with ESPN to talk about their approach to creating StarCraft Remastered. They talk about how they reached out to the community to make sure they were remastering the game the correct way. As players of Brood Wars, it’s awesome to hear their approach on everything. And we are both excited for August 14th to get to play it all again! Check out the whole article here!
It’s finally here! The 2017 Rock the Cabinet winners have been announced, and we are excited to have played the awesome games from this years contest. It’s amazing how creative the StarCraft community is! Congrats to Part and Parcel for taking home the gold, but huge grats to all the creators from this years contest! Check out the recap video here!
With the announcement of Garrosh, the community is having second thoughts about having another berserker warrior in the game. From his damage reduction to his healing upon doing damage, he is definitely going to be a force to be reckon with! But the community thinks he may be a little too overpowered and may need some second approach by the development team. But we think… they just need to wait until he’s actually on the PTR (which he is now!). But the community is passionate, and that’s what we like to see!
From free ice cream to free missions, the Hearthstone team is getting the community hyped up about the release of the Knights of the Frozen Throne. They announced a ton of new cards this past week, and Dave Kosak took the time to let us all know how the new mission system will work with the upcoming expansion. We will actually be facing off against the Lich King himself in an all out brawl which will give a different experience depending on the type of hero you are playing. So really there will be 9 different encounters that will offer up a ton of a different experiences for everyone involved. Check it all out here!
With Doomfist just hitting live servers, the Overwatch community is already digging for the next hero anywhere they can find it! This past week a photo was “leaked” from someone saying they have tight ties with the Overwatch team. We aren’t sure if we believe the leaks, but we do wish the community would stop going down the tin foil hat rabbit hole so hard! If you are interested in reading about the “leak,” check out the article here.
The Overwatch World Cup is happening in full force! Most recently they traveled down under to Australia to determine who would be heading to BlizzCon! From the awesome plays, to amazing cosplay, a ton of awesome fun came out the the event! Congratulations to Sweden and Australia on advancing to BlizzCon! Check out all the sweet plays here!
We talked about it last week, and Blizzard was like.. what’s up?! Here you go! And released their new “Reporting and Penalty System.” The main thing to focus on for this new policy change is, “To this end, effective immediately, we will be issuing increased penalties to players in response to verified reports of bad behavior. In Overwatch, that means anything from abusive chat, harassment, in-game spam, match inactivity (being intentionally AFK), and griefing. If you see someone engaging in any of these types of behaviors, report them. Players in violation will be silenced, suspended, or even banned from the game as a result.” You can read more about it here!
This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:
Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.
Game: DOOM SPACE Type: FPS Creator: MOTHBALLS Kilroy’s Review: “The creator of this game said it was a mix between Doom (The Original) and Dead Space, and they were not kidding it is a perfect mashup all built right into the SC2 Universe using Starcraft assets. Right off the bat you take off in a quick maze action FPS with a gun and things to kill, some of the graphics are a bit choppy at the moment but this game is still in initial build and test mode and looks like it will be one promising Starcade addition. Worth the play, the wait, the everything, and for the second week in a row the starcade has a 5* Hit. Can’t wait to see the full out finished product.”
