Welcome to the Frozen Nerdz Podcast Episode 167 called “Free Ice Scream.” We are your Blizzard Entertainment discussion podcast. The show you are about to hear was recorded on Sunday, July 23rd, 2017.
On this week’s show, we quickly go over our past week in video games before we move onto weekly Top 5 saltiest list from the Hearthstone universe, and then we jump into our Blizzard Entertainment discussion. This week we talk about the discontinuation of support for Windows XP and Vista, slight BlizzCon predictions, a wild Orc appears in the Nexus, Hearthstone brought frozen treats to a Hot Con, Diablo Season 11 is now live, Overwatch has a few skin glitches, there could be an anti-griefer system coming and then we move onto our World of Warcraft discussion. This week we talk about the death to private servers…. again, the Warcraft team loses another inspirational person, and what’s coming in Patch 7.3.
But before we go, we talk about another amazing Blizzard Arcade game called Ice Baneling Escape! And then we say our weekly goodbyes.

Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the Hearthstone universe. We discovered a lot of salt pertaining to the free ice cream that was given out at San Diego Comic Con.

1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*
The Heroes of the Storm team is at it again! This time they start out teasing us about a new hero coming through the dark portal, but then it turns out to be an orc! This time everyones favorite hero Garrosh is coming to the Nexus shortly! Who’s excited?!
Lok’Tar Ogar, Heroes! Garrosh, Son of Hellscream, will soon devastate all those who stand against him in the Nexus! pic.twitter.com/LfnAVZc1wH
I scream, you scream, we all scream for Ice Cream! And the Hearthstone team answered the call by opening a Frozen Throne themed ice cream parlor at San Diego Comic Con this past weekend. And it was a major hit, and not only because the Lich King himself showed up, but because who doesn’t like free ice cream!? (Besides those people in our Top 5 saltiest list!).
But that’s not it from the Hearthstone team this week, as they ramp up for the big card reveals starting on July 24th, they are giving players a chance to do arena runs to earn card packs for the Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion! What are you doing reading this?! Go collect your card packs, or at least go check out this awesome Frozen Throne themed comic that also came out!
Just when you thought you were starting to finally spend outside in the sunlight, Diablo releases another season upon us! This time Season 11 starts and everyone is off to the races collecting the new gear sets, or just destroying Greater Rifts as a necromancer! Season 11 is the first season that the necromancer is apart of, and it’s dang exciting!
Sometimes bugs make it onto the Overwatch PTR and are quickly fixed by Blizzard. Other times the bugs are so big they require a FLAMETHROWER to just burn them all to death! We aren’t even sure if its a bug, or if it’s a new skin coming, or is there a flamethrower wielding hero in our future? We are hoping for ALL THREE!!! Just imagine if Mei had an evil twin who used fire instead of ice?! Wrestle with Jeff, prepare for death!
But wait, theres more! Not only did the Overwatch team release a new comic called Masquerade, it also is rumored that there may be an anti-griefer system coming to live shortly. This system would basically make it so that people who are throwing matches would be penalized, and the punishment would be pretty extreme. And it’s just what we always wanted! That, and a flamethrower wielding ice princesses!
This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:
Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.
Game: Ice Baneling Escape – Cold Voyage v1.1 Type: Puzzle Creator: Chioy Kilroy’s Review: “Take on 27 challenging puzzles as you navigate your baneling through some treacherous obstacles. Now when we say challenging we mean darn near impossible, these maps are really quite hard and you can play them over and over again till you beat all 27 and then once you do that you can turn up the challenge even more by playing the game in extreme challenge and extreme speed mode. Gotta say this is one well rounded Puzzle game, sure there are some control quirks here and there that can work against you, still totally worth all the time I invest in it.”
