Welcome to the Frozen Nerdz Podcast Episode 157 called “2 Spam or not 2 Spam.” We are your Blizzard Entertainment discussion podcast. The show you are about to hear was recorded on Sunday, May 14th, 2017.
On this week’s show, we quickly go over our past week in video games before we move onto weekly Top 5 saltiest list map rotations in Heroes of the Storm, and then we jump into our Blizzard Entertainment discussion. This week we talk about map rotations in the Nexus, as well as our thoughts on Heroes 2.0, then we move onto our Hearthstone discussion talking about playing cards at Buffalo Wild Wings, a leaked Overwatch anniversary event, and then we talk about Overwatch League before moving onto our World of Warcraft discussion. This week we talk about a Warcraft themed cookbook, Black Temple timewalking has been tested, and then we talk about last week’s IceBox poll about Mythic+ dungeons.
But before we go, we have another amazing Blizzard Arcade game to talk about called Losing Memories which is a 2017 Rock the Cabinet submission. And then we say our weekly goodbyes.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns for the show, feel free to contact us via email at IceBox@FrozeNerdz.com. But without further ado, sit back relax and enjoy Episode 157 of the Frozen Nerdz Podcast!
5.) What moron says that there’s too many maps atm? Where are they getting this ‘advice’?
4.) I honestly can’t stand Braxis. Map rotations must include way more maps to be bearable.
3.) I have Hanamura burn out hardcore right now. [edited for language by Moderator]
2.) Someone tell me once it’s gone because the multiple roster of maps is why i play HoTS and getting the same map multiple times is just really boring to me and makes me feel like i shOuld just go back to league
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*
It was featured in our Top 5 saltiest list, but it’s actually a topic we wanted to talk about this week on the show. Heroes is making it so that only 9 of the 13 maps are active at any given time, and it is limiting the exposure that new players will get to the whole map pool. The reason for this is when you have 13 different maps, you have 13 different objectives and it’s a lot to take in for new players. But that doesn’t have the community too happy… You can check out the community discussion here!
But that’s not all we had to talk about from the Nexus this week, we weigh in our thoughts about how Heroes of the Storm 2.0 has effected our play time in the game, and more! Listen to the episode to find out what else we all talked about!
The Spring Hearthstone finals are just around the corner, and the community is confused on why a game based around playing a card game in a tavern is being played in a tavern!? THE INSANITY! Blizzard announced the play locations for the tournament, and 5 of the locations are inside Buffalo Wild Wings. The community doesn’t like this, but we had something else to say about it on this week’s show. Check it out to find out what! But you can find the announcement here!
Could it be? Once again Xbox leaks information about an upcoming Overwatch 1 year anniversary event coming to the game. They also leaked information talking about an Overwatch Game of the Year edition that may also be coming shortly! What else could they possibility leak!? The GotY edition sounds like it would include additional skins that were not given with the Origins edition, as well as the event having over 100 new items coming to the game. Is this too close to the release of Overwatch Uprising, or is it just in the perfect amount of time for something else to do within the game? Find out what the Nerdz had to say about it!
Also, this week it was talked about on ESPN that it would cost up to 20 million dollars to join the Overwatch League as an organization, but Blizzard came out to correct those rumors and assumptions saying that they are wrong, and that they are working hard on getting everything in place for the Overwatch League. But since it was announced over 6 months ago, we still have yet to hear anything about it from Blizzard. Is time running out, or are they in typical Blizzard fashion waiting until everything is perfect before they say anything? Fans are waiting, and are starting to get restless! Confused as much as we are about the Overwatch League, weigh in on this week’s IceBox Twitter poll!
Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.
Game: RTC 2017: Losing Memories v2.1 Type: Co-op Creator: Austral Details: Another RTC submission for the co-op mission category. Work together with your team mate who will actually play with you if they are AI, however that AI isn’t the fastest in the universe so still don’t expect too much out of them. This game is a neat configuration you must race your enemies through a series of protoss constructs to get to an archive before the enemy does. This is challenging as there are limitations on the troops you can build and, unlike your enemy, you have to deal with constant waves of assaulting forces while you are trying to build up resources and an assault force. Gather your courage and take on this great entry to the RTC.
