Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the Warcraft universe. We discovered a lot of salt STILL pertaining to mob scaling in game since Patch 7.2 came out.
Top 5 Saltiest Mob Scaling in 7.2 Comments:
5.) I’ve given this game a lot – and in return, it has spit in my face.
4.) Blizzard: If it aint broke, break it
3.)I like just wiping !@#$ out. I don’t want every single mob to take the same rotation.
2.)Scaling doesn’t affect DPS or character output, at all… holy carp are you really going to try and make that argument?
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*
What would you do if you found a dusty old CD jewel case labeled StarCraft Source Code in a box you bought off eBay? A lot of people would keep it, but not one Reddit user. He reached out to Blizzard and returned the item to them. And for doing the right thing, he has been handsomely rewarded with a TON of Blizzard swag, but the fun didn’t stop there. Blizzard is giving an all expenses paid trip to BlizzCon this year to show their appreciation. It just goes to show that if you do the right thing, you will be rewarded beyond your wildest dreams!
This past week, the StarCraft team had an internal interview about the upcoming StarCraft Remastered game at will be releasing here shortly. This time they sat down with a ton of different members of the team bringing into perspective how much time and love has gone into remastering the game. It’s more than just slapping on a new coat of paint, it’s all about making sure the game looks and feels like it did when it first came out. You will want to check out that interview here!
But there was also another awesome interview with Mike Morhaime and Samwise Didier about the beginning of Blizzard and how StarCraft came to be the game that it is today. Check that one out here!
Due to changes in Chinese Law, Heroes of the Storm, and other Blizzard games are now required to the loot probability within their loot crates, packs and more. So this past week, Blizzard announced what the math looks like behind the scenes for Heroes of the Storm.
Here is an excerpt from the news article:
— Rare items should occur in every box.
— Epic items should occur every 4.5 boxes, on average (22.2%)
— Legendary items should occur every 17.5 boxes, on average (5.7%).
Those are some pretty good odds over all. But how would lower numbers effect other games outside the Blizzard Universe? We talk about it on the show this week, so give it a listen to find out! You can see the other games stats here.
This past week the Diablo team sat down for another Necromancer Q&A and they covered a METRIC ton of information for players. But there were two super important things for players who aren’t in the beta (LIKE US) to take away from the Q&A and that is…
Question: Will we need to purchase the Necromancer across both the Xbox and PC? (and PS4)
Answer: Yes. They are separate products.
Question: Why is their hair white?
Answer: There is a legitimate reason for this that is explained by lore. That is going to be answered in the future through media still to be released.
So with that being said, there will be more Lore coming through a media form here shortly, so that is exciting! We are hoping for another Epic Trailer like the D.va announcement trailer for heroes of the Storm. You can catch the video of the Q&A here!
You can take off your tin foil hat, there isn’t any new Doomfist leaks to talk about this week, but we do have some awesome news for Overwatch to bring you! This past week in the Blizzard Quarter 1 earnings call, it was announced that Overwatch has become Blizzard Activision’s 8th Billion Dollar franchise. And they did so in less than a year! It has also increased to 30 million heroes who have answered the call since Overwatch has been activated!
Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.
Game: RTC2017: On The Clock Type: Co-Op Creator: Dr. SuperEvil Details: The Mobius corps has come up with a massive warping battle platform that you and your co-op commander must take over before the timer runs out. Many challenges face you as you make your way across this platform. The platform has some amazing game mechanics which really make for a unique style of gameplay, there are multiple platforms that are shifting at random intervals in time which means that a frontal assault isn’t always assured in this map. Throw in assaults from the enemies to keep you on your toes to make this map a complete package. There are some story elements that are needed to take this map to the next level but overall a strong showing in this years RTC. May not have AI but if you like Co-op missions it is worth the wait for another player.
