Even though there aren’t seasons in the Nexus, the Heroes of the Storm team added a new…. Snowbrawl to the game for this week. If you were lucky enough to check it out you found out quickly that it had a nice spin to the classic MOBA style game where you could select different snow balls on the map to destroy your enemies with either single shots, or some massive AOE damage! But this new brawl brings up the discussion on different seasons that could be brought to the Nexus in order to change the look and feel of the different maps as the year goes on. To find out more about this discussion listen to this week’s episode as these icy nerdz talk about their thoughts of snow covered maps in Heroes!
On December 31st, 1996 the Lord of Terror was first released on Sanctuary. And over the past 20 years, we have made numerous memories within the Cathedral, Tristam and beyond. But Blizzard decided to take it one step further and decided to add Diablo to Heroes of the Storm, StarCraft, Hearthstone, Overwatch and World of Warcraft. Each game is getting a different type of event in order to showcase some of the awesome aspects of Diablo in their own way. If you want to see the list of what’s coming, check out this article over at Diablo Fans!
With most of Blizzard on break for the holiday’s, there wasn’t any direct news available about Overwatch this week, but the nerdz took this time to talk about what we could see, and what they would like to see coming in 2017 for the game. Epic already makes the call out of Game of the Year again… even though that’s not possible! Hear the whole discussion about better testing by players, to new maps, to wonderful make believe heroes on this weeks episode.
This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:
1.) World of Warcraft is being added to the California Computer History Museum. Details.
2.) With 2017 upon us, what could be in store for Azeroth? The nerdz talk about just that this week on Episode 138!
Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.
Game: USA v1.12 Type: Control Map Creator: DarcZaFire
Details: Interesting game, the map is set up to look exactly like the Main part of the USA, the map is broken down by 48 states with 48 supply depots with 1 major objective capture as many as you can and defeat your opponent using your gradually increasing resources from capturing the map around you. Some strategy is necessary to dominate your opponent and using the continent to your advantage plays a huge role in doing this correctly. Some tips for those who would embark on playing this, the more supply depots you can get into view at 1 time the faster you can churn out marines to take over the map, and it is important to not expand in a way that makes it hard for you to defend your back line. Overall this game is fast paced and is an excellent smash and grab land rush, the lack of AI makes this game require others to play with but the more you get the harder and more exciting this game becomes.
