Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the World of Warcraft universe. We discovered a lot of salt pertaining to the announcement of the Mythic Dungeon Invitational!

Top 5 Saltiest Mythic Dungeon Invitational Salt Posts

5.) PvE… E-sports? Isn’t it the definition of E-sports that people go up against other players, not the environment?
4.) yeesh, i love m+ because it ISN’T a competition. gonna take some extra effort on my end to keep Woohoo Look At These Esports from looming over my fun.
3.) So once the optimal 5 man team is determined every other class can kiss their chances of getting M+ invites good bye. Can’t wait.
2.) You have 6k arena prize pools at major tournaments, but you are giving 100k to a mythic+ tournament? I’m fine with this tournament having a nice pool, but I mean, show PvP some love too.
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*

With StarCraft Remastered coming on August 14, 2017, and we are hyped to be talking about StarCraft news today! This week we focus on talking about the fact that Blizzard said that StarCraft Remastered will have it’s OWN competitive ladder. That means there will be a separation between old school gamers and new school gamers. This is great news, and we are excited to climb the new ladder!

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

Since the changes of Heroes 2.o, it appears that there were some stealth changes that happened when it came to the release of new skins, sprays, and mounts in the game. It’s not a new concept that when something comes out it costs more to purchase with in-game currency within the game, but with the recent release of new skins it caught the Heroes community without notice. And people are upset. Blizzard’s response to the community hasn’t helped the situation. But we offer this one piece of wisdom… don’t be mad about things you can buy with a digital currency instead of RL money!

For some, Hearthstone has gotten old, or stale… but the good news is… there is a new site on the block to help spice things up! It takes suggestions from the Hearthstone community to create new daily quests to complete! Spin the wheel, and get a new challenge! Do you like playing certain cards, or not playing certain classes? This is the site for you. Check out Hearthstone Roulette today!

This past week Rapper Ben Brode made another appearance on Reddit, and this time it wasn’t in meme form! He took to the internet in a Hearthstone AMA where he answered a TON of questions revolving around the current state of Hearthstone, what’s next, card reveal, and much much more! If you ever wondered what Ben’s favorite pizza topping was, now is your chance to find out! Check out the whole AMA here!

Some times bugs slip through the cracks and aren’t caught until they do some massive damage to the competitive ladder within Diablo. And this past week, that happened. There was a bug/exploit based on a certain set up on Nercromancers and Demon Hunters that resulted in them to be able to complete Greater Rifts faster than anyone else. And Blizzard’s answer to this was giving us a Double XP weekend this past week! For some, that’s awesome, but for a part of the community is still upset about it and they are questioning why they didn’t take part in this exploit. It’s a dirty fine line to walk, but in the end, play nice; play fair.

Overwatch News Banner

It has finally happened! The Overwatch League has announced the first 7 teams! Even though it doesn’t span the whole globe just yet, it’s still awesome to hear from the OWL Commissioner! Check out the announcement here, and the video here.

But wait, there’s always more Overwatch news for the world! Along with this past weekends Overwatch World Cup matches, there was an awesome thing that happened within the French Government revolving around Overwatch! This past week the Secretary of State from the French Assembly took the time to send a letter showing support for the French team representing the EU in the Overwatch World Cup! Check it all out here!

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) The Mythic Dungeon Invitational is here! PVE esports is now a thing!
2.) Black Temple Timewalking adventures with Epic and Kilroy!

This past week was a very busy week for the nerdz, so we were not able to play a Blizzard Arcade for the first time ever! But we are in a holding pattern as we wait for the announcement of the winner of the Rock the Cabinet 2017 contest! As a remember, this are the final community votes for the contest!

Welcome to the Frozen Nerdz Podcast Episode 165 called “Liver Licker.” We are your Blizzard Entertainment discussion podcast. The show you are about to hear was recorded on Sunday, July 9th, 2017.

On this week’s show, we quickly go over our past week in video games before we move onto weekly Top 5 saltiest list from the Overwatch forums, and then we jump into our Blizzard Entertainment discussion. This week we talk about a StarCraft Remastered commercial, Round 3 of BlizzCon tickets come and go, Hearthstone decided to jump on the Frozen theme train, Diablo Season 11 starts soon, and Doomfist has been officially announced by Overwatch, and Papa Jeff gives us his humble opinion on balance on the forums. Then we move onto our World of Warcraft discussion. This week we talk about the use of one shot mechanics on bosses in Tomb of Sargeras, and then we talk what expansion could be next for World of Warcraft.

But before we go, we talk another Blizzard Arcade called Last Generator! And then we say our weekly goodbyes.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns for the show, feel free to contact us via email at IceBox@FrozeNerdz.com. But without further ado, sit back relax and enjoy Episode 165 of the Frozen Nerdz Podcast!

Here are a few ways you can do that!

Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the Overwatch universe. We discovered a lot of salt pertaining to the anouncement of Doomfist!

Top 5 Saltiest Doomfist comments

5.)Doomfist’s primary fire reloads while his other abilities are being used, including his quick melee. I don’t think any other hero functions this way.
4.)He’s slow all abilities are easy to dodge even his ult and shotgun fire isn’t hit scan so i don’t see him getting much play at higher level
3.) I speak for all of us when I say that we, the Overwatch community, are in agreement that we are disappointed with the casting of Sahr Ngaujah as Doomfist.
2.) I was really hoping Doomfist might be a good counter to the cancer that is the dive comp that is infecting this game but looking at his gameplay it doesn’t look like it’s going away any time soon he looks like a perfect fit so we now we have Dva Winston and Doomfist to choose from oh joy…
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*

BlizzCon general admission tickets have now all been sold out. Round 3 lasted just as long as the previous rounds, but that comes at no surprise to us! But know that even though they may be sold out, places like www.LFBlizzCon.com may have tickets being sold from time to time. So if you are still looking for tickets, check there first!

The video game culture in Korea is so much more advance than that in the United States. And they prove that by releasing an awesome StarCraft Remastered commercial! Words can not describe how awesome this is, so you just need to check it out for yourself!

This past week there was more big news out of Blizzard and the Hearthstone team. It was announced that we will be heading to Northrend in the next expansion called “Knights of the Frozen Throne!” Not only does it follow our favorite theme of frozen things, it also introduces new death knight hero cards which allow every player to become a Death Knight! Check out the announcement trailer here.

With the Necromancer being out for only a short period of time, it’s already been announced that the next season of Diablo will be starting on Thursday, July 20th, 2017. But the community is starting to wonder why there hasn’t been any patch notes, and why the download files are almost 2GB in capacity. What’s coming this season!? We aren’t sure either. But we hope it’s more EXPLODY!!!

Overwatch News Banner

The day has finally come…. Doomfist has been announced, revealed and talked about! His origin story was brought in a new art style, but it doesn’t fail to deliver more questions and more lore than every before! And with the announcement, we heard from Jeff Kaplan with another developer update talking about Doomfist and their strategy behind him.

But that wasn’t all we would get from Papa Jeff this week, he took the time to sit down and give us his humble opinion about class balance changes on the forums! Even though we may not agree with everything he had to say, we definitely appreciate him taking the time to give us a little insight and his opinion on the topic! Check it all out here.

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) 8 out of 9 Mythic Tomb of Sargeras bosses have one shot mechanics, is Blizzard getting lazy with their game design?
2.) Things found on the PTR hint at the next World of Warcraft expansion. TINFOIL HAT TIME!

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game: The Last Generator
Type: Survival
Creator: Deathscyp
Kilroy’s Review: “In this game you and 3 other players have 35 minutes to defend a base with limited resources and a limited army.  This game requires a ton of strategy and is very challenging to complete as the rate at which you gather materials is very slow.  Each person is given a corner to defend as the core is constantly under siege by infested that come in waves.  Unfortunately there is no native AI for your team so you will have to work 4 times as hard to accomplish a win.  If you are looking for a game that will take 35 minutes to win then this is your game if not this game may not be best for you.”

Final Rating (1-5): 2

Episode 164 – “102 Days”

Welcome to the Frozen Nerdz Podcast Episode 164 called “102 Days.” We are your Blizzard Entertainment discussion podcast. The show you are about to hear was recorded on Sunday, July 2nd, 2017.

On this week’s show, we quickly go over our past week in video games before we move onto weekly Top 5 saltiest list from the Overwatch forums, and then we jump into our Blizzard Entertainment discussion. This week we talk about a StarCraft Remastered date, a hot and wet Heroes of the Storm promotion, Hearthstone goes Wild, a Overwatch PSA for hoarders, then we talk about the state of Overwatch esports. Then we move onto our World of Warcraft discussion. This week we talk about the World of Warcraft World First Race, and then we talk about Patch 7.3 hits the PTR… already…

But before we go, we talk another awesome game within the Blizzard Arcade called S.C.R.A.P.! And then we say our weekly goodbyes.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns for the show, feel free to contact us via email at IceBox@FrozeNerdz.com. But without further ado, sit back relax and enjoy Episode 164 of the Frozen Nerdz Podcast!

Here are a few ways you can do that!

Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the Overwatch universe. We discovered a lot of salt pertaining to the recent changes made to Roadhog.

Top 5 Saltiest Roadhog Nerf Complaints

5.)  Roadhog was completely ruined. His winrate has dropped to near 40%, and his pickrate has dropped to less than 5%. And that was the FIRST WEEK of his nerf, it’s probably even lower now.
4.) he didn’t need that nerf and its been lethal to him
3.) Please fix this hero. He was good, now he is horrible.
2.) Good riddance don’t want to see him again. Roadhog and pharah can just be removed from the game for greater good.
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*

The wait is finally over! On August 14, 2017 StarCraft Remastered will be released! We are insanely excited to replay the classic from our childhood. With stunning new graphics and beautiful new layouts, could this be the resurgence to push StarCraft back to the top of a lot of gamers Go-To list!? We think it has a chance. If you are interested in pre-purchasing StarCraft Remastered, you can do so here.

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

It’s Summertime!!! And the Heroes of the Storm team is about to give away a lot of hot loot for hundreds of thousands of players. The Suns Out Guns Out promotion is here! If you want to win an all expenses paid trip for two to BlizzCon 2017, you have to WIN one game in Heroes of the Storm each day for the next month. Or you may win a gaming PC, an Illidan Statue, a metric ton of loot crates, or more! Check out all the details and rules here. And now, check out this video!

The next StarCraft hero is coming to the Nexus! He’s a mixture between Zerg and Terran, and he’s a support hero… we welcome Stukov to the Nexus. It may seem strange that he is a support hero, but it’s exciting because he brings a whole new style of healing to the game. He heals with poison globes, slows enemies with poisons, or he can use his ultimate to slap the enemy, or take one of them out of play for awhile! Check him out in this video!

Just when you think you can’t get enough of the wild announcements coming from Blizzard, this past week it was announced that Hearthstone will be releasing all of their previous expansions again to allow players access to the previous cards that can be used in Wild Play. There are a lot of changing coming to packs and legendaries also, so it’s an exciting time to be getting back into Hearthstone before the next upcoming expansion is released!

The Nercomancer Pack has been released! And this week we talk about our first impressions with it on the show, but if you are interested in purchasing the pack yourself, you can do so here!

Overwatch News Banner

The Overwatch team just wanted to give us all a Public Service Announcement (PSA) about NOT hoarding lootboxes right now. We have talked about it before, but it needs to be addressed again. Lootboxes are timestamped when you receive them, not when you open them. So if you get the lootbox, there is not reason NOT to open them right away. So stop hoarding, and start opening!

With little information about the Overwatch League being released, a few more well known Overwatch teams are stepping back from the esports scene. But does that mean that Overwatch esports is already stalling out? On the show we talk about how maybe it’s not that it’s stalling out, but that maybe there needs to be better communication from Blizzard Esports about events, and how with teams hearing a ticket price of $10 million for buy in may be scaring smaller organizations away from the scene. But what do you think?

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) The World First Race is upon us, and thanks to Method we are all kept in the know!
2.) To Argus! Patch 7.3 is already on the PTR, but is it too soon?

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game: S.C.R.A.P. Public Alpha v1.9
Type: Strategy
Creator: Wayward
Kilroy’s Recap: “In this game you work as a harvesting group to get as many resources as you can from scrap that is laying around the battlefield.  It’s important to plan wisely and build a sturdy defense while operating as stealthily as possible to avoid your opponent and gain the upper hand against them.  Unfortunately there is no built in AI and it makes for a boring match but the concept of this game’s alpha is both entertaining and fun needs some additional work but is shaping up to be a great Starcade game.”

Episode 162 – “Claw Crackers”

Welcome to the Frozen Nerdz Podcast Episode 162 called “Claw Crackers.” We are your Blizzard Entertainment discussion podcast. The show you are about to hear was recorded on Sunday, June 18th, 2017.

On this week’s show, we quickly go over our past week in video games before we move onto weekly Top 5 saltiest list from the Warcraft forums, and then we jump into our Blizzard Entertainment discussion. This week we talk about cheaters banned from StarCraft, the Rock the Cabinet 2017 Top 5 finalist revealed, new job postings for the Diablo Team, Overwatch console players not getting what they want, the community wants to see Jeff Kaplan play Overwatch, we talk about how we can’t be part of the Overwatch Open for Amateurs.  Then we move onto our World of Warcraft discussion. This week we talk about Holinka leaving the Warcraft team, the unannounced project, and Legendaries in Patch 7.2.5.

But before we go, we talk another awesome game within the Blizzard Arcade called Cow Hunters! And then we say our weekly goodbyes.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns for the show, feel free to contact us via email at IceBox@FrozeNerdz.com. But without further ado, sit back relax and enjoy Episode 162 of the Frozen Nerdz Podcast!

Here are a few ways you can do that!

Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the World of Warcraft universe. We discovered a lot of salt pertaining to Brian Holinka’s announcement of leaving the Warcraft team for an unannounced Blizzard project. You can read more about it here.

Top 5 Saltiest Saltiest Holinka Leaving Posts

5.) Woo this made my day. Best of luck to you Brian.
4.) FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YESSSSSSSSSS
3.) p r a i s e t h e l o r d
2.) Good now PvP can hopefully be good again
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*

From both of us here at the Frozen Nerdz Podcast, we just want to thank Brian for all his hard work and dedication to the World of Warcraft PVP scene over the past 5 years, and we are excited to see what the future holds for him! Congratulations. But remember, you will always be our Batman!

Match fixing isn’t something new to the StarCraft esports scene, but this past week seven Chinese players were given up to two year bans from being able to participate in any or all Blizzard sanctioned events due to match fixing, and/or smurfing. But it’s amazing to us that some players were only given 6 month bans for professional play, are those punishments too light for cheating? Find out more from our discussion on this week’s show!

We talked about the top 10 last week on the show, now it’s time to talk about the Top 5 finalists in this years Rock the Cabinet contest! The Top 5 finalists were decided by the votes from the community, and now the Top 5 will be put up against Blizzard employees to see which games prove to be this years best Co-Op creation! We successfully picked 4 of the Top 5 games, but how did your favorite games hold up in the voting? Find all the results here!

There are lots of rumors running around the internet that StarCraft isn’t going to be the only game that gets remastered or updated for current gaming systems. This past week it was noticed that Blizzard is hiring for a Diablo position that would be working on making the original Diablo game updated for new systems! But does that mean we will get a remastered version of the game, or just an updated playable version? The world may never know! Check out more of what we are talking about here.

As we all patiently wait for the Necromancer DLC, Blizzard keeps showing off new features coming to Diablo to keep us longing for more… Check out the latest update showcasing Challenger Rifts!

Overwatch News Banner

From the day of LAN Parties, or playing FPS’s in your buddies basement, people have always enjoyed the ability to play two players or more at the same time on the same screen. Overwatch console players have been asking for this feature to be added to the game, but sadly this past week they got their answer that it is not currently in the works, and may never come to consoles. We can empathize with those parents wanting to play Overwatch with their kids, or the families that only have one console or TV, but split screen of a lot of newer FPS games just isn’t possible anymore with online play and high definition graphics. You can read more about Blizzards response here.

After Jeff Kaplan dropped some snark on a forum user this past week, the community has been demanding that Jeff shows off his Overwatch skills to the community truly showing that he plays the game as much and as well as he claims. Though we have seen him play in the past, it doesn’t mean we will see it again in the future. But we personally think it would be awesome to see Jeff go head to head in a Brawl with the Blues, or some type of casted Overwatch esports! Hey! Nerdz can dream right?!

This past week it was announced that there will be an Overwatch Open for Amateurs! But with anything nice for the community, there is always going to be people who have issues with it. And with this event, players are having a problem that it requires at least reaching master rank once in order to enter the tournament! But with 30 million players, can you really say that everyone is allowed to play in the Open Division of the Overwatch League? Well, the Nerdz discuss just that on this week’s show, from Epic’s Bronze perspective to Kilroy’s Gold one! You can find out more about the Overwatch Open here.

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) Brian Holinka leaves the World of Warcraft team for an unannounced Blizzard project. TINFOIL HAT TIME!

2.) Legendary drops before upgrades are available.

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game: Cow Hunters v2.2
Type: Arena
Creator: Pancakes
Kilroy’s Review:  “Simple and addicting best describe this game,  work as a cow slaughtering mercenary and surpass your opponents by gathering resources from dead cows and your opponents, last man standing is the winner.  Right off the bat this is a truly fun game that requires strategy and patience to really succeed against your opponents. Over all the Nerdz are very satisfied with this game and it’s simple and almost roach snake qualities, all it needs now is a killer soundtrack and maybe some AI so you can train to pwn human opponents.”

Final Rating (1-5): 4

Here are a few ways you can do that!

Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the Overwatch universe. We discovered a lot of salt still pertaining to the issues with Lootboxes within Overwatch and specifically the anniversary event!

Top 5 Saltiest Continued Lootbox comments

5.) Every time I get a legendary and it is a non event one I die a little on the inside. (Just got a Legendary and it is the Yeti Hunter Mei….)
4.) Oh, look. Two gold discs come out of a box. A coin and the fudging Lucio skin I already had.
3.)I hope someone will get fudging fired because of this. STILL NO ANSWER??? This is beyond ridiculous.
2.)My prediction: June 13th when the event is over they will simply unstick this thread, lock it and let it vanish into the depth of this rapidly moving forum. Problem solved – Kaplan style.
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*

This past week, there were a lot of Interviews with different branches of the Blizzard Universe, but the first one we talked about was an interview with Pete Stilwell talking about StarCraft Remastered. He talks about joining the team, and what it all takes to take an old version of the game and updating it to new technology without losing the original look and feel for players. He talks about how they reached out to the StarCraft community that has been playing this game weekly for 20 years to see what their thoughts were about it. You can catch the whole interview here.

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

There are some changes coming to the Heroes of the Storm version of Hanamaura and it doesn’t seem like the Heroes team can make the Community happy. But for us nerdz, we enjoy the map a lot due to it having a lot of different options on how to win the matches. But what will the changes be? We aren’t sure, we just have to wait and see!

The second interview we talked about this week was one with Ben Brode talking with PC Gamer about the meta within Hearthstone, random events to give away cards, and how his job doesn’t stop when he gets home from work! He says that he goes onto the forums, reddit and beyond in order to stay in contact with the player base, and also to relax. How crazy is that?! Find out more by reading the full interview here.

Even though we are still waiting to see when the Necromancer will come out in Diablo, Blizzard reveals what the rewards within the game will be for purchasing the DLC. From banners to in-game pets and more! Check them all out here, or in the picture below!

Overwatch News Banner

It wouldn’t be a week of talking about Overwatch without tin foil hats, or people being banned for cheating. But this week there is a twist in the normal Overwatch formula, because it was discovered that the Overwatch Pro Player Dafram has been suspended by Blizzard for match throwing! He was streaming on his alt account and was talking to his community about how he throws matches and how he just stays active enough so that it appears like he is actually trying, but isn’t. This is coming from one of the top Overwatch players in the world… no wonder the rest of the community has so many problems! Check out the whole Kotaku article here.

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) Patch 7.2.5 releases on June 13th.

2.) Legion Q&A with Paul Kubit.

This past week we sat down and played each and every one of the Top 10 finalists for the 2017 Rock the Cabinet! Here are our top 5 (6) picks!

  1. Cradle of Death: 5
  2. Mercenary Business: 5
  3. Death From Above: 4.33
  4. Armory Retaking: 3.83
  5. Construction Yard: 3.83
  6. Part and Parcel: 3.83

Episode 160 – “Where’s Mr. Cain?”

Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the Overwatch universe. We discovered a lot of salt pertaining to the insane level of toxicity within the Overwatch community. You can read the forum for yourself here!

Top 5 Saltiest  Posts towards Overwatch Toxicity

5.) News flash: This community is a microcosm of society. It’s not better elsewhere. Words can not affect you unless you let them. Stop being a weenie.
4.) The internet has salty people “Get over it”
3.) Try the Nintendo Switch, no chat or voice chat for bullies to torment you in online games.
2.) Freaking soft people and their safe spaces these days. Grow a pair and harden up.
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*

It’s finally here! The Top 10 Rock the Cabinet 2017 games have been picked, now its time for the community to play, vote and win! You could win one of three awesome Asus gaming laptops, or even some awesome StarCraft swag from the team by just playing some of the top 10 games within the Blizzard Arcade! Check out the official posting of the rules, and the list of games here!

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

The Heroes of the Storm team started teasing what hero was going to be next shortly after we recorded Episode 159, but they didn’t take long before they showed us who was next! Straight out of Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls, the Aspect of Death himself, Malthael is coming to the Nexus! He’s already available on the PTR for testing, and will be going live here shortly. You can check out what he’s going to look like and what else the HotS team is working on in this short in-progress video! From the things we have seen in this video, we believe we may be seeing a Summer themed event in Heroes or maybe even Overwatch…. but who honestly knows?!

This past week, Hearthstone received a major update! Besides just bug fixes and your normal updates, Blizzard added the import deck option into the game! By entering a simple string of text, you are able to import a deck right into your mobile device, or PC! It’s so easy and faster that Kilroy does it LIVE on the show for everyone to … hear! It’s a feature that has been asked for from the community for years, and it’s finally here! Dust off those cards, and dive head first into making awesome new decks within the game! For more information about this feature, check out this article!

Time is slowly ticking away as we wait for the announcement of when the Necromancers will be available within Diablo, but Blizzard doesn’t want us waiting without anything to do… This past week they released two new cinematic trailers for the Necromancer! Check out the female, and male versions here!

Overwatch News Banner

With Overwatch being a game that was created using Earth as it’s home planet, we should have seen it coming. We have cars without wheels, omnics roaming around the streets, and wild hogs running rampant in the streets. But now, Earth just has too much gravity for our liking and we are headed to the Moon!!! The newest map was announced, and it appears that we will be travel where it all started for Baby Winston, and we get to explore the Horizon Lunar Colony! Not only does it add new story to the game, it also adds a new “Low Gravity” feature within the new map, and option being added to the Overwatch Arcade! You can hear more about it from Jeff himself in this short video!

It was also talked about this past week that there were some major issues with people getting DDoS’ed by players on console due to the lack of a report feature on the PS Network. You can read more about everything here.

And besides talking about news, we have a deep dive discussion all about our experience in Overwatch Competitive Season 5. From toxic players, to horrible ratings, to Epic uninstalling the game! You won’t want to miss this discussion this week!

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.)  Slootbag interviews Morgan Day (Lead Encounter Designer). From raid design to Mythic+ affixes, to story telling to Mythic raids, you can read/watch it all here!

2.) Epic was right! Tomb of Sargeras opens on June 20th! You can check out the whole schedule here!

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game: Duskers
Type: Strategy
Creator: Alien
Kilroy’s Review:  “Where to begin on this one… Simply put it is the most confusing disaster that we have ever played on the show you have a starting area with unique abilities and scavengers and no instructions, no real way to engage your opponents, make any resources, or move outside of your enclosure.  Far be it for us to say from an outside perspective this game is close to 100% unplayable and lacked anything that similar arcade games have to make them fun.”

This week we talk about the Heroes of the Storm 2nd Anniversary, problems with RNG in Hearthstone, Kilroy shares his experience of playing a Necromancer in Diablo, then we talk a lot about Overwatch including issues with loot box loot, and problems with competitive play before moving onto our World of Warcraft discussion. This week we talk about the Tomb of Sargeras raid preview and community managers says the darnedest things!

Top 5 Saltiest Community Manager Responses

5.) Just another example of an arrogant company.
4.) I’m more offended that this is what the blue thought was worth commenting on.
3.) How many more subs will be lost until changes are made?
2.) Successful companies that want to stay that way NEVER treat customers like they’re idiots!

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

It’s been only two years since Heroes of the Storm went live, and Blizzard is ready to celebrate the launch of their MOBA with a 2nd Anniversary event in game! Complete a few quests, collect a few rare 2nd anniversary event exclusive items including a banner, player icon, and a spray! These items are available for a limited time only, so jump into the Nexus today before they are gone! Here’s a preview of what the loot looks like. You can find everything about the 2nd Anniversary event here!

Day9 is known for his Hearthstone live streams and his commentary, but this past week he was playing a game on his live stream that lasted for about 30 minutes based solely on an insane amount of RNG. Which brings up the question we talk about on the show this week, is there TOO much RNG in Hearthstone now? You can check out his whole match here!

Competitive Season 4 comes to an end, but season 5 is just around the corner and starts this week! But that means, the Nerdz have some discussion about the current state of competitive play, and what they feel like needs to be taken into consideration when fixing the game. To hear this discussion check out Episode 159.

But this week is also still the Overwatch Anniversary event where you can get tons of new skins, dance moves, emotes, voice lines and more. But the community noticed one thing in order to gain all the items during this event via currency, you would have to play for over 12 hrs a day in hopes to get them all! This week on the show, we talk about the chances of getting loot in loot boxes, and what Blizzard may consider doing in order to guarantee better results for consumers.

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) TOS preview is now available
2.) Community Managers say the darnedest things!

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game: Mine Wars — Test v0.2
Type: Other
Creator: GladiatorMax
Kilroy’s Review: “This one is just one of those games you want to enjoy but can’t just yet because it’s still 100% in test and thing in it are really buggy some AI will play some won’t. There is no real easy way to collect vespene gas there is a very stranger builder system that works but is very limited and the time required makes this game super hard to enjoy.  But what is mine wars?  Its a game where you work to clear rock formations out of your way across a map and gather resources to build an army and take out your opponents before they take you out.  Finding Vespene and upgrading your units will ensure your victory as that is the most important aspect of this game is how much damage you can do.  The faster you clear the stronger you become.”

Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the Hearthstone universe. We discovered a lot of salt pertaining to Hearthstone giving out a free card to players who logged in on May 20th. Read more about the salt here.

Top 5 Saltiest Free Card Receivers in Hearthstone

5.) why tho?
4.) Wow, what a Fun “Promotion”!
3.)the catch is you have to sell your soul to blizzard. jokes on your blizzard, everyone who plays this game already has!
2.) Long weekend. I’ll be in the middle of a national park with no internet available. RIP
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*

We talked about it on this week’s show, but if you are attending BlizzCon, or just want to help out, consider supporting DitchCon on Kickstarter! DitchCon is a WILD and CRAZY party that happens the Wednesday before BlizzCon! It is hosted by the awesome people over at PWNCast, a World of Warcraft podcast, and gives everyone a chance to hang out, have a drink, and get their dance on. It’s truely an amazing party! So if you want to support, check out their Kickstarter, or help spread the word (that part is free!). But we will be there, but that can only happen if the event gets fully funded!

If you logged into your Blizzard Launcher this past week, or maybe even your Battle.net launcher if you are slow to update, you may have noticed something strange and out of place. Blizzard announced this past week that they will be adding Destiny 2 to the Blizzard Launcher. Destiny 2 is a Activision Blizzard title, so it makes sense, but what’s more shocking Destiny 2 will now be available on PC! The previous game was console only, and with Blizzards help it will now be brought to PC. But what’s more exciting is that you will be able to purchase the game with Battle.net balance! Imagine buying a new game with your WOW Tokens!

If you are a huge StarCraft esports fan, you already know the names of Tasteless and Artosis. But if you aren’t crazy like us, they are two previous StarCraft pros who have turned announcers. But you don’t have to watch esports to hear them talk anymore, you can actually hear them in-game with the latest “Tastosis” voice pack that is coming to the game in Patch 3.14! You can check it out here!

When it was announced at BlizzCon 2016, we weren’t when or if we would ever see the Deepmind AI go up against a StarCraft Pro. Recently, StarCraft pro’s sat down to talk about their perspective on the topic. And it definitely brings up a lot more questions than it answers, but it also increases the level of excitement for an artificial intelligence to take on one of StarCrafts best players. If you want to read more about the interview with Byun and Jaedong here!

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

The Heroes of the Storm Nexus Challenge 2.0 has come to an end. We hope you were able to collect all your skins, lootboxes and more before it ended! On the show, we talk about our experiences with Heroes 2.0, and how it effects how we played the game. Give us a listen of a different perspective.

This past week there was a lot of stuff that the Hearthstone universe shared with the world. First up they offered up one free card for logging in on May 20th. But like most free things in the world, the community wasn’t too happy it wasn’t free enough. You can read all the salt here.

They also released a new live action series called Mulligans. No spoilers here, but you can check out the first in the series here!

But wait theres more! They also announced that they will be adding some long awaited community requested features to the game. Some of those features are friends forever which allows you to challenge friends to complete quests, and sharing is caring which finally allows us to import and export decks directly in the game! You won’t have to use any third party apps to complete the task! You can check out these features first hand here!

Overwatch News Banner

It’s been awhile since we have seen a full rendered animated short from the Overwatch team, but recently Jeff Kaplan announced that they are working on more and we will be seeing something new soon(tm). We love getting new content from the Overwatch team, so we are excited to see what comes up! You can check out the whole interaction here.

Nothing has been officially announced as we type this, but it’s been one year since Overwatch has been released, and there is a event on the horizon. It’s been leaked on Xbox, it was been teased on Twitter, but we haven’t heard exactly what is coming just yet. You can watch a 1 year recap of Overwatch here, or check out the teased new skins here!

Prepare your bodies, minds and soul, the Play Overwatch for Free weekend is almost upon us! Do you have friends who don’t like playing awesome video games because they cost real money? Now is your chance to get them addicted to the latest gaming sensation ever known! Play Overwatch for free from May 26-29th on PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4! All the details can be found here!

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) World of Warcraft author Christie Golden joins Blizzard!
2.) The in-game cinematics team talks about their jobs! Details.
3.) European Raiding guild Serenity calls it quits :(. More details here.
4.) New legendary rings show up on the Warcraft PTR. Details here.

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game: Lava Run-Alpha Testing v1.32
Type: Other Survival Maze
Creator: Armageddon
Kilroy’s Review: “Here is a game that really tests the player’s ability to work together with a team of people all working towards a common goal, Surviving the lava and navigating a maze.  You start off the game selecting your hero and after you have done that each hero has specific abilities and traits that will assist your team in breaking down barriers building up resources creating walls to slow the flow of lava on the map as you make your way to the finish line.  Plan your use of crystals and what you destroy to help keep your team flowing but not the lava and you will win.  But right off the bat this map is unbelievably challenging and will certainly take more than just you to clear, cant bring AI as there isnt any so get your friends in this game and survive the lava flows.”

Episode 157 – “2 Spam or Not 2 Spam”

Welcome to the Frozen Nerdz Podcast Episode 157 called “2 Spam or not 2 Spam.” We are your Blizzard Entertainment discussion podcast. The show you are about to hear was recorded on Sunday, May 14th, 2017.

On this week’s show, we quickly go over our past week in video games before we move onto weekly Top 5 saltiest list map rotations in Heroes of the Storm, and then we jump into our Blizzard Entertainment discussion. This week we talk about map rotations in the Nexus, as well as our thoughts on Heroes 2.0, then we move onto our Hearthstone discussion talking about playing cards at Buffalo Wild Wings, a leaked Overwatch anniversary event, and then we talk about Overwatch League before moving onto our World of Warcraft discussion. This week we talk about a Warcraft themed cookbook, Black Temple timewalking has been tested, and then we talk about last week’s IceBox poll about Mythic+ dungeons.

But before we go, we have another amazing Blizzard Arcade game to talk about called Losing Memories which is a 2017 Rock the Cabinet submission. And then we say our weekly goodbyes.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns for the show, feel free to contact us via email at IceBox@FrozeNerdz.com. But without further ado, sit back relax and enjoy Episode 157 of the Frozen Nerdz Podcast!

Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the Heroes of the Storm universe. We discovered a lot of salt pertaining to the latest Heroes of the Storm announcement pertaining to map rotation.

Top 5 Saltiest Map rotation comments

5.) What moron says that there’s too many maps atm?  Where are they getting this ‘advice’?
4.) I honestly can’t stand Braxis. Map rotations must include way more maps to be bearable.
3.) I have Hanamura burn out hardcore right now. [edited for language by Moderator] 2.) Someone tell me once it’s gone because the multiple roster of maps is why i play HoTS and getting the same map multiple times is just really boring to me and makes me feel like i shOuld just go back to league
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

It was featured in our Top 5 saltiest list, but it’s actually a topic we wanted to talk about this week on the show. Heroes is making it so that only 9 of the 13 maps are active at any given time, and it is limiting the exposure that new players will get to the whole map pool. The reason for this is when you have 13 different maps, you have 13 different objectives and it’s a lot to take in for new players. But that doesn’t have the community too happy… You can check out the community discussion here!

But that’s not all we had to talk about from the Nexus this week, we weigh in our thoughts about how Heroes of the Storm 2.0 has effected our play time in the game, and more! Listen to the episode to find out what else we all talked about!

The Spring Hearthstone finals are just around the corner, and the community is confused on why a game based around playing a card game in a tavern is being played in a tavern!? THE INSANITY! Blizzard announced the play locations for the tournament, and 5 of the locations are inside Buffalo Wild Wings. The community doesn’t like this, but we had something else to say about it on this week’s show. Check it out to find out what! But you can find the announcement here!

Overwatch News Banner

Could it be? Once again Xbox leaks information about an upcoming Overwatch 1 year anniversary event coming to the game. They also leaked information talking about an Overwatch Game of the Year edition that may also be coming shortly! What else could they possibility leak!? The GotY edition sounds like it would include additional skins that were not given with the Origins edition, as well as the event having over 100 new items coming to the game. Is this too close to the release of Overwatch Uprising, or is it just in the perfect amount of time for something else to do within the game? Find out what the Nerdz had to say about it!

Also, this week it was talked about on ESPN that it would cost up to 20 million dollars to join the Overwatch League as an organization, but Blizzard came out to correct those rumors and assumptions saying that they are wrong, and that they are working hard on getting everything in place for the Overwatch League. But since it was announced over 6 months ago, we still have yet to hear anything about it from Blizzard. Is time running out, or are they in typical Blizzard fashion waiting until everything is perfect before they say anything? Fans are waiting, and are starting to get restless! Confused as much as we are about the Overwatch League, weigh in on this week’s IceBox Twitter poll!

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) The World of Warcraft Cookbook! Buy a copy today and support the show!

2.) Black Temple time walking testing feedback. Details.
3.) Last week’s IceBox Twitter Poll: Does the current @Warcraft Mythic+ system need changes?

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game: RTC 2017: Losing Memories v2.1
Type: Co-op
Creator: Austral
Details: Another RTC submission for the co-op mission category.  Work together with your team mate who will actually play with you if they are AI, however that AI isn’t the fastest in the universe so still don’t expect too much out of them. This game is a neat configuration you must race your enemies through a series of protoss constructs to get to an archive before the enemy does.  This is challenging as there are limitations on the troops you can build and, unlike your enemy, you have to deal with constant waves of assaulting forces while you are trying to build up resources and an assault force.  Gather your courage and take on this great entry to the RTC.

Episode 156 – “Theatre Butter”

Welcome to the Frozen Nerdz Podcast Episode 156 called “Theatre Butter.” We are your Blizzard Entertainment discussion podcast. The show you are about to hear was recorded on Sunday, May 7th, 2017.

On this week’s show, we quickly go over our past week in video games before we move onto weekly Top 5 saltiest list about mob scaling in World of Warcraft. Then we talk about an awesome interview about StarCraft Remastered with the people working on it, then we talk about loot probability in Heroes of the Storm, then we quickly cover the latest Necromancer Q&A, Overwatch breaks more records for Blizzard, and then we talk about the most recent Blizzard earnings call. Then we finally move onto our World of Warcraft discussion. This week we talk about Blizzard cracking down on Win-Trading, Blizzard helps out a community in-game event, and then we talk about the changes coming to Mythic+ dungeons.

But before we go, we have another amazing Blizzard Arcade game to talk about called On The Clock. And then we say our weekly goodbyes.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns for the show, feel free to contact us via email at IceBox@FrozeNerdz.com. But without further ado, sit back relax and enjoy Episode 156 of the Frozen Nerdz Podcast!

Here are a few ways you can do that!

Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the Warcraft universe. We discovered a lot of salt STILL pertaining to mob scaling in game since Patch 7.2 came out.

Top 5 Saltiest Mob Scaling in 7.2 Comments:

5.) I’ve given this game a lot – and in return, it has spit in my face.
4.) Blizzard: If it aint broke, break it
3.)I like just wiping !@#$ out. I don’t want every single mob to take the same rotation.
2.)Scaling doesn’t affect DPS or character output, at all… holy carp are you really going to try and make that argument?
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*

What would you do if you found a dusty old CD jewel case labeled StarCraft Source Code in a box you bought off eBay? A lot of people would keep it, but not one Reddit user. He reached out to Blizzard and returned the item to them. And for doing the right thing, he has been handsomely rewarded with a TON of Blizzard swag, but the fun didn’t stop there. Blizzard is giving an all expenses paid trip to BlizzCon this year to show their appreciation. It just goes to show that if you do the right thing, you will be rewarded beyond your wildest dreams!

This past week, the StarCraft team had an internal interview about the upcoming StarCraft Remastered game at will be releasing here shortly. This time they sat down with a ton of different members of the team bringing into perspective how much time and love has gone into remastering the game. It’s more than just slapping on a new coat of paint, it’s all about making sure the game looks and feels like it did when it first came out. You will want to check out that interview here!

But there was also another awesome interview with Mike Morhaime and Samwise Didier about the beginning of Blizzard and how StarCraft came to be the game that it is today. Check that one out here!

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

Due to changes in Chinese Law, Heroes of the Storm, and other Blizzard games are now required to the loot probability within their loot crates, packs and more. So this past week, Blizzard announced what the math looks like behind the scenes for Heroes of the Storm.

Here is an excerpt from the news article:

— Rare items should occur in every box.
— Epic items should occur every 4.5 boxes, on average (22.2%)
— Legendary items should occur every 17.5 boxes, on average (5.7%).

Those are some pretty good odds over all. But how would lower numbers effect other games outside the Blizzard Universe? We talk about it on the show this week, so give it a listen to find out! You can see the other games stats here.

This past week the Diablo team sat down for another Necromancer Q&A and they covered a METRIC ton of information for players. But there were two super important things for players who aren’t in the beta (LIKE US) to take away from the Q&A and that is…

Question: Will we need to purchase the Necromancer across both the Xbox and PC? (and PS4)

Answer: Yes. They are separate products.

Question: Why is their hair white?

Answer: There is a legitimate reason for this that is explained by lore. That is going to be answered in the future through media still to be released.

So with that being said, there will be more Lore coming through a media form here shortly, so that is exciting! We are hoping for another Epic Trailer like the D.va announcement trailer for heroes of the Storm. You can catch the video of the Q&A here!

IceBox Twitter Poll:

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game: RTC2017: On The Clock
Type: Co-Op
Creator: Dr. SuperEvil
Details: The Mobius corps has come up with a massive warping battle platform that you and your co-op commander must take over before the timer runs out.  Many challenges face you as you make your way across this platform.  The platform has some amazing game mechanics which really make for a unique style of gameplay,  there are multiple platforms that are shifting at random intervals in time which means that a frontal assault isn’t always assured in this map.  Throw in assaults from the enemies to keep you on your toes to make this map a complete package.  There are some story elements that are needed to take this map to the next level but overall a strong showing in this years RTC.  May not have AI but if you like Co-op missions it is worth the wait for another player.
