Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the Warcraft universe. We discovered a lot of salt pertaining to recent changes to the Warcraft.exe.

Top 5 Saltiest “Modders”

5.) It’s not hurting anyone. It’s not a big deal, it never was. Blizzard has known about them for years. They have been around since vanilla days. It’s okay, really. Just calm down.
4.) It’s literally harmless and blizzard has been okay with it for some time. The only reason it is ruined now is because of what they did to remove botters.
3.) I just want my mods back.
2.) Please, please revert those exe changes, please. Give us our mods back. WoW just hasn’t been the same..
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*

It’s finally here! They have released the BlizzCon 2017 floor plan. Besides Diablo bathrooms, and a Slyvannas statue, there’s not too much out of the ordinary from previous years. Check out the floor plan here.

More videos were added to the BlizzCon Virtual Ticket. If you haven’t watched the free videos, check them out. If you want MORE awesome behind the scenes videos from inside Blizzard, consider getting the virtual ticket!

And if you get the virtual ticket, you also get a ton of awesome in-game digital goodies! Check them out here!

And for those people attending BlizzCon, or virtual ticket holders, you get early access to the Pre-BlizzCon merch sale on the Blizzard Gear store! They have awesome new merch like Mei Yeti Slippers, and you can get you very own… MEI SNOWBALL!!!! OMG!!!! Check it out here.

Recently, there was a StarCraft AI tournament that a lot of large companies participated in. One of the major new comers to the scene was Facebook CherryPi. Out of 28 contestants, Facebook paced sixth overall. In a world that is constantly changing, it’s awesome to see larger companies focusing on the improvement of AI technology. To find out more about this event, check out this article!

We are excited for some major UI changes coming to StarCraft and the Blizzard Arcade! The changes will make it easier to navigate the Blizzard Arcade, and help speed up the process of getting into new and exciting custom games!

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

Just like previous seasons, and other esports, it was announced that Junkrat will not be playable at the Heroes Grand Championship (HGC) at BlizzCon. This means that even though recent updates to heroes like Zul’jin, Nazeebo, and Muradin will still be active, but Junkrat will not be playable.

It was announced this past week, that you are able to gain the latest Hearthstone Warlock hero by participating in a Fireside Brawl. So if you want to get Nemsy Necrofizzle, check out these Fireside Gatherings .

Overwatch News Banner

Rumors are once again brewing in the “Unannounced Project” hiring scene again, and this time Overwatch is included in the rumors. They are hiring an intern with experience in Overwatch. Does that mean something new is coming from the IP, or a new branch of Blizzard IPs coming?! The world may never know!

There is a new Overwatch Clone on the mobile market, and they are getting hit with a lawsuit by Blizzard. If you want to find out more about it, check it out here. Or you can watch some of the footage here. We are not going to name it here.

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) Looking for something new to do in Warcraft? Have you tried soloing Normal Gul’dan? Mionee has! Check it out here.
2.) Blizzard hits botters with another ban wave.
3.) Warcraft.exe changes break the naked mods!

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game: Battle For The Living v3.32
Type: Hero Battle
Creator: starkiller
Kilroy’s Review: “You start out this game on a split map where you have units sitting on top of a ridge.  There are not many instructions on how to go about playing this map,  you are left with some serious figuring out to do.  Along with that there is no AI built into this map and it really doesn’t have that great of gameplay.  Safe to say these nerdz  Hated it.”

Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the <Insert Game Here> universe. We discovered a lot of salt pertaining to the BlizzCon 2017 closing band announcement!

Top 5 Muse Salt

5.) They haven’t had a good albulm since 2009. twilight or no, they were a great band that are now has-beens barely above the level of a garage band.
4.) ehhh…..
3.) Pass!
2.) This is horrible news… what a joke. Wow. Talk about a depressing update on this topic.
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*

The new Blizzard Arena has officially opened it’s doors in Burbank, California this past weekend where it played host to the Overwatch Contenders finals. After the grand opening, may Blizzard employees and press were invited to check on the new location, and fans were able to check it out themselves on for the esports event. But for those of us that live thousands of miles away, we just get to look at all the pretty pictures! You can check them out here!

The Official BlizzCon 2017 schedule has been released! We scoured through it looking for any chance that Blizzard may have something up their sleeves, but we were not able to find anything directly related to a surprise. But we did discover that there are a few panels that caught our attention like the Voices of Blizzard – The Powerful Women of Warcraft panel featuring the voice actresses of WOW, and that the Instance Podcast with Scott Johnson has it’s own 45 min time slot on the community stage! Congrats Scott!

If you want to keep up with everything going on with the Frozen Nerdz at BlizzCon 2017, check out our BlizzCon page!

After looking at the BlizzCon 2017 schedule, we were missing one thing… where was the StarCraft Deep Mind panel?! It appears that Blizzard and Google have different plans for the Deep Mind this year, they are actually hosting a mini-convention at the Hilton on November 3-4 for all AI Developers interested in learning more about AI development. Even though we aren’t AI developers, we are going to try to see if we can act like Robots and sneak into this event to hear everything that’s going on in the state of StarCraft Deep Mind progression! You can find out more about this mini-con here!

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

Even though BlizzCon is on the horizon, the Heroes of the Storm team just keeps on their normal content release schedule by showing us what will be coming next! From Junkrat becoming playable to Hallows End event skins coming, there is a lot to look forward to coming to the Nexus. Check it all out here! Or just watch this sweet video:

The latest Diablo season is coming to a close here on October 20th. So if you still need to gain the rewards from Season 11, make sure you get into the game soon and finish them up! Find out more about the season ending here.

Overwatch News Banner

We talked about the leaked images of the Overwatch Halloween of Terror event making it’s return on October 10th, but now it appears there has been a few more images leaked that showcase some of the upcoming skins for Mei, Zenyatta, Symmetra, Reaper and more. Check them all out here. And we will find out more about all the skins, sprays, voice lines, poses, and more coming Tuesday when it’s all officially announced!

We were worried that it would happen, and now it has. With the release of the Overwatch League, some of the smaller OW esports teams, like Team Rogue, are disbanding their teams in order to allow their players to join OWL teams. Team Rogue was able to gain the funds to purchase a team slot, but they were not approved to be part of the Season 1 team lineup. Will more of this be taking place in the future days as OWL teams have until the end of October to lock in their Season 1 rosters? Only time will tell.

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) The latest Legion Developer Q&A recap.

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game: Empire Builder 3 v1.0
Type: Strategy
Creator: Samo
Kilroy’s Review: “The goal of this game is straightforward, build your town and grow your economy.  This game can be played alone or with friends and is almost like an age of empires, meets Sim City, meets Starcraft.  Now as you continue to build yourself up and establish your income and armies and buildings you will be attacked by protoss who will be also making settlements helping them to advance at a differing rate based on how often you interrupt their progress.  Expand and take over the map grow your empire and have some fun in this Starcade game.  This game may not have been for the Nerdz but it is still worth checking out.”

Episode 176 – “Geography Lessons”

Welcome to the Frozen Nerdz Podcast Episode 176 called “Geography Lessons” We are your Blizzard Entertainment discussion podcast. The show you are about to hear was recorded on Sunday, September 24th, 2017.

On this week’s show, we quickly go over our past week in video games before we move onto weekly Top 5 saltiest list from the World of Warcraft universe, and then we jump into our Blizzard Entertainment discussion. This week we talk more about the upcoming World of Podcasts event, an indoor sports event invites StarCraft players to participate, the Heroes of the Storm meta may be getting hit with a grenade, the return of the Hearthstone Trinity tournament, Overwatch changes hit the PTR, and we find out more about the Overwatch League’s launch. Then we move onto our World of Warcraft discussion. This week we talk about the Mythic+ Dungeon Invitational, the AMA with Samwise, and our response to the communities rage about the Netherlight Crucible.

But before we go, we talk about another Blizzard Arcade game called Pac-Mancraft! And then we say our weekly goodbyes.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns for the show, feel free to contact us via email at IceBox@FrozeNerdz.com. But without further ado, sit back relax and enjoy Episode <<Episode ###>> of the Frozen Nerdz Podcast!

Here are a few ways you can do that!

Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the World of Warcraft universe. We discovered a lot of salt pertaining to the recent Blue post talks about the Netherlight Crucible being added in Patch 7.3.

Top 5 Saltiest Netherlight Crucible comments.

5.) this isn’t the first time blizzard contradicted themselves. in-fact it’s probably the 1000th time.
4.) Ya the Crucible is a RNG NIGHTMARE! Reforging was great compared to this.
3.) netherlight is reforging made worse in ways i couldn’t even imagine
2.) Blizzard speaks out against something and then does exactly what it spoke out against? Color me shocked!
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*

We talked about it last week on the show, but it has been officially announced! This year at the Pre-BlizzCon event Con Before the Storm, both nerdz will be part of panels at the World of Podcasts event! Kilroy will be representing the show by speaking at the Pre-BlizzCon Kickoff Panel, and Epicisanity will be the moderator for the World of Warcraft panel! The event takes place on Thursday, November 2nd at the Anaheim Hilton. For more information, check out the World of Podcasts page!

Don’t miss a single moment of the BlizzCon experience and get yourself one of those fancy BlizzCon Virtual Tickets today!

Normally when you think of StarCraft esports, you think of awesome head to head matches of Protoss verses Zerg, or insane APM from the pros, but in Turkmenistan they are changing the face of StarCraft esports! At the 5th Asian Indoor Games, the StarCraft pros will be sharing an arena alongside traditional indoor sports and martial arts such as Bowling, 3-on-3 Basketball, Taekwondo, and more. How cool is that?! This means that the gap between sports and esports are closing faster and faster! What a time to be a nerd?!

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

Last week on the show, we talked about Ana and Junkrat joining the cast of the heroes from Overwatch inside the Nexus! But this past week, the Ana spotlight was revealed and she is currently playable on the Heroes of the Storm PTR right now! And once players saw her Heroes toolkit, they started asking how much effect she will have on the current meta of the game. In a game where double support is a common occurrence, her healing/anti-healing grenade may destroy the meta faster than we even know. Is that what Blizzard wanted to happen? Is that why she was the next hero to enter the Nexus? Only time will tell. But you can check out her Hero Spotlight here!

Hearthstone is known for it’s single player game play, and when it comes to esports, you don’t often think of it as a team sport. But when the ESL announces the second season of the community favorite Trinity Tournament coming on September 27th, we are about to see the added twist to the game. The Trinity event is known for team based Hearthstone Tournaments where teams of 3 work together to beat their opponent. One person plays, but the other two are able to provide insight during the matches. All of this spawns conversations about 1v1v1 or even 3v3 Hearthstone brawls! Does this open up the possibilities for future events?!

Overwatch News Banner

This past week some PTR changes were snuck into the files that has the community a little upset (imagine that, the Overwatch community upset?!). The changes pertain to the use of “ultimate charge.” Previously if you died during the use of your ultimate, you wouldn’t be charged for it’s use. Now, if you die during it’s cast animation (i.e. Mei, Bastion, Hanzo, Genji, etc.) you could lose the full use of your ultimate ability. This doesn’t effect a lot of players, but those that feel like they are being cheated are upset. It comes down to having to better time the use of your ultimates to make sure you don’t die in the process of using it.

And we finally have a date for the start of the Overwatch League Season! Coming December 6th, players from the 12 teams from around the world will start competing in the pre-season matches at the Blizzard Arena in Los Angeles, CA. And on January 10th, the season will officially start! But, since it’s been over a year since the announcement, and it seems to be slow moving, is it a little too late when it comes to the hype behind the Overwatch League? We have a great discussion about it on this weeks show, so give it a listen to hear it all!

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) The Mythic Dungeon Invitational
2.)  Shadows of Argus Art Contest
3.) Samwise Reddit AMA
4.) Netherlight Crucible

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game: Pac-Mancraft (Beta) v1.7
Type: Puzzle
Creator: BlueCricket
Kilroy’s Review: “Like its name this game is pacman!  Sure there aren’t ghosts instead it’s zerg and  you are going head to head against friends running a gauntlet and using abilities to corral zerg or kill them or move them away from you and after your opponent. THIS GAME IS ROACH SNAKE FUN!.  but there is no AI opponents and that means that you gotta find others to place otherwise it’s still pacman which can be played by itself. Gotta try this game the developer for it has really done a great job.”

Episode 175 – “LAN PARTY!!!”

Welcome to the Frozen Nerdz Podcast Episode 175 called “LAN PARTY!!!” We are your Blizzard Entertainment discussion podcast. The show you are about to hear was recorded on Sunday, September 16th, 2017.

On this week’s show, we quickly go over our past week in video games before we move onto weekly Top 5 saltiest list from the Heroes of the Storm universe, and then we jump into our Blizzard Entertainment discussion. This week we talk more about the upcoming StarCraft announcer pack, two new heroes and a new map coming to Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone’s getting a cookbook, more Diablo hiring rumors and questions, an upcoming Overwatch F2P weekend, Papa Jeff talks about toxicity, and hints are Hero 26. We talk about all of that before moving onto our World of Warcraft discussion. This week we talk about the latest Adoption pet for Hurricane Relief, the Mythic Dungeon Invitational, and the Netherlight Crucible. Then we wrap up our discussion with talks about the BlizzCon Virtual ticket.

But before we go, we talk about another Blizzard Arcade game called Tree Defense! And then we say our weekly goodbyes.

Top 5 Saltiest Overwatch Characters in Heroes Comments

5.) STOP ADDING OVERWATCH CHARACTERS!!!! All it does is serve to say “We have ZERO ideas for new creative characters people actually want and need to fill the gap fast.”
4.) my biggest complaint is the ludicrous amount of mobility most of them have in their kit.
3.) I know this game is based on taking characters of all blizz’s games, but I don’t want Overwatch characters! It’s just a fallback when they don’t have other ideas!
2.) OW characters are absolutely boring and stale. They are a copy and paste, which is why they do it. It is easy rather than needing to be innovative.
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*

The 2017 BlizzCon virtual ticket is getting a major revamp thanks for the feedback from previous years. This year there will be more coverage that never before as they are adding over 30 additional hours of content to the virtual ticket! Not only from the stages of the Anaheim Convention Center, but also from Blizzard HQ itself! In the weeks leading up to BlizzCon 2017, they will be releasing exclusive videos the the events page that will showcase cosplay creation, artwork, the secret Blizzard Vault, and more!

To find out more about the BlizzCon Virtual Ticket, check out our Twitter moment of the live tweets.

If you want to purchase a BlizzCon Virtual Ticket, you can do so here!

Day9 is a house hold name in the Blizzard Entertainment world, from StarCraft to Hearthstone, he is known for his work in the community. So it does not come as much of a surprise after the StarCraft: Remastered live stream, that he would be the next Announcer pack being added to the game. Congratulations to Sean! Much deserved and we are excited to hear you announce our game play in the future!

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

Straight out of Overwatch and into the Nexus go Ana and Junkrat. Yes. TWO HEROES coming for the Overwatch Universe to enter the Nexus. But besides just new heroes, we are also getting a Volskaya Industry map! And a metric ton of new hero skins coming! All of this being announced within 50 days of BlizzCon. What is in store for us at BlizzCon this year?! You can watch the video of the reveal here.

It may comes as a surprise to some, but it was announced this past week that the creator of the World of Warcraft Cookbook is whipping up some new Hearthstone inspired recipes! From tavern inspired food to cocktails to mock-tails, there is a lot being shown over in this new cookbook from Chelsea Monroe-Cassel! Check out all the details here.

The rumor mill is still working overtime right now. And they are even more split between a Diablo 4 or a Diablo II Remastered coming! From the most recent career postings on the Blizzard’s career page, we aren’t sure either. They are looking for someone “deeply familiar with the art of game development, our industry, and the AAA environment.” What does this mean? More waiting. More sleepless nights.

Overwatch News Banner

If you haven’t been playing it already, Overwatch is offering a free to play weekend coming up this week! From September 22nd to the 25th, you can play Overwatch on all systems 100% for free. Details here. And after you decide you love it, you can buy it here.

This past week, Papa Jeff took to the microphone to introduce to us the latest Developer Update coming for Overwatch. But this time, he didn’t have any awesome new features coming, or a new hero to reveal, or nerfs to Symmetra (HEY! We can dream!). He wanted to talk about one thing… toxicity. It’s not a new concept to the world of First Person Shooters, and it’s definitely not new to video games, but Blizzard lives by the motto of “Play nice, play fair.” So they are taking a stand against the toxicity within one of their most played and successful games.

You can watch the video here.

But, not everyone in the world of the internet is happy with the way Jeff presented this information and the words that he used. Experts in the field of Online Harassment feel like Jeff missed the mark on addressing the issue. If you want to hear how Epic feels about this topic, tune into this episode to find out!

Also, since we haven’t talked about enough rumors this week, Jeff drops some knowledge on us about the upcoming Hero 26! WHAT?!

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) Support Hurricane Relief and adopt a new pet!

2.) The Mythic Dungeon Invitational

3.) The Netherlight Crucible and it’s importance. Wowhead Guide here.

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game:  +-Tree Defense-+ v0.7
Type: Tower Defense
Creator: Hecsagon
Kilroy’s Review: “This is an interesting tower defense game.  You start the game off using drones to select a subset of defense units who will be placed in the way of incoming enemies  who are moving their way up the tree.  You have to work with team mates to kill as many waves as possible.  This game is super challenging to play by yourself as waves of enemies come a little too fast to play alone.  Adding AI to this game won’t help you as they will not engage with the environment and attempt to hold the map with you.  While an interesting tower defense game and worth playing if you like them this isn’t the best showing in the genre.”

Episode 174 – “That New New”

Welcome to the Frozen Nerdz Podcast Episode 174 called “That New New.” We are your Blizzard Entertainment discussion podcast. The show you are about to hear was recorded on Sunday, September 10th, 2017.

On this week’s show, we quickly go over our past week in video games before we move onto weekly Top 5 saltiest list from the Hearthstone universe, and then we jump into our Blizzard Entertainment discussion. This week we talk more about the first US Blizzard esports Arena opening, advances in StarCraft vs Deepmind AI, big changes coming to Heroes of the Storm in Season 3, the Hearthstone community is upset over upcoming changes, Overwatch gives us a behind the scenes look at Rise and Shine, a fan created Overwatch game surfaces, then we move onto our World of Warcraft discussion. This week we talk about the Great Collegiate Dungeon Race, flying and crying, and then we have a long discussion about Patch 7.3, Argus, and what’s next.

But before we go, we talk about another Blizzard Arcade game called Demon Hunters! And then we say our weekly goodbyes.

Here are a few ways you can do that!

Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the Hearthstone universe. We discovered a lot of salt pertaining to the recent announcement of changes coming in Patch 9.1.

Top 5 Saltiest Hearthstone Changes Comments

5.) Someone should nerf the servers 😉
4.) Up-vote/comment if you plan to stop giving Bli$$ard anymore of your dollars.
3.) f*ck balance changes – stupid blizz
2.) Changes happening too little, too late as per usuall.
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*

A secret project has been brewing in Los Angeles over the past few months, and none of us knew it was happening. It appears that Blizzard has built, or purchased a building that will become the first US based Blizzard Arena. This arena will host the October 7-8 Overwatch Contenders Season One Playoffs. We can’t wait to see pictures of this place and possibly check it out this coming November!

It was announced at BlizzCon 2016, and we are now seeing major advancements in the rate in which we may see Google Deepmind AI taking on a StarCraft player. It was predicted that it would be about 5-10 years before this would happen, but with recent updates it sounds like that time may be getting cut short. And thats exciting for gamers world wide because that means video games are making major difference in the world. So our question is… when will we see Deepmind take on the StarCraft WCS Champion in a Best of 3?!

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

Not only did Kel’thuzad enter the Nexus this past week, it was also revealed that there will be some changes coming to the way that Season 3 is Heroes of the Storm will work. One of the main points that we talked about on this episode was the changes to the Grandmaster rank not opening for the first two weeks of the season, which will result in the top tier of players to placed lower and have to have a battle to become the best. It’s an exciting change and it will be interesting to see if other games pick up the same rank structure or not.

We talked about the Hearthstone community being upset about the meta last week on the show, and this week Blizzard announces some major changes coming to the game in Patch 9.1. This includes changes to Innervate, Fiery War Axe, Hex, Murloc Warleader and Spreading Plague. But with that, the player base got a little upset with the Developer notes that were added about the changes to Fiery War Axe claiming it was calling them stupid, and Ben Brodes was quick to correct that perceived thought process. Changes were made to mana costs of cards instead of flavor text or what it does due to a massive amount of players having cards memorized. The mana changes make you have to look at the card instead of just clicking it and it preforming something different on your screen. But the community still isn’t happy? Have Hearthstone players replaced Overwatch players as the saltiest players in the Blizzard Universe?!

Ever since the Mei “Rise and Shine” animated short, we have been feeling a little frosty, and wanting more. And Blizzard must have knew we wanted it, so they delivered this past week by giving us a Behind the Scenes on the short and into their creative process when it comes to developing these videos we all love. Check it out!

But Blizzard wasn’t done there. They also released a brand new comic featuring our two favorite junkers: Junkrat and Roadhog! Check it out here.

But Blizzard isn’t the only group of people making awesome content outside of the game, this past week it was redditor Lucskywalker who created an awesome turn based RPG using Overwatch as it’s inspiration. It’s in its infancy, but it has some major potential! It makes us wonder what a Overwatch Trading Card Game would look like!

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) Great Collegiate Dungeon Race
2.) Flying and Crying
3.) Should they have just made Patch 7.3 an expansion?!

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game: Demon Hunters v 1.23
Type: Survival
Creator: JeeSpot
Kilroy’s Review: “This is a great top down survival map with heroes at the helm of exterminating a demonic threat and saving the day. This game was a challenge to do solo and took some time to get down the logistics of how to survive the demons level up and use your hero abilities to win the map by destroying beacons that were summoning demons.  Once you defeat all beacons the game is won but the difficulty level increases as you move throughout the game. This is a fun addition to the blizzard arcade and is worth the playthrough but be sure to bring some friends because it makes this game even more fun.”

Episode 173 – “Lootlicious!”

Welcome to the Frozen Nerdz Podcast Episode 173 called “Lootlicious!” We are your Blizzard Entertainment discussion podcast. The show you are about to hear was recorded on Sunday, September 3rd, 2017.

On this week’s show, we quickly go over our past week in video games before we move onto weekly Top 5 saltiest list from the Hearthstone universe, and then we jump into our Blizzard Entertainment discussion. This week we talk more about a StarCraft Remastered Art Contest at Blizzard, Kel’thuzad was on the PTR, the Hearthstone meta keeps changing, more hints at something coming from Diablo, Deathmatch goes live in Overwatch, the Overwatch team corrects their wrong,  then we move onto our World of Warcraft discussion. This week we talk about our thoughts of Patch 7.3 so far, the Secret Finding Discord is at it again, and then we finally have our discussion about our Pros and Cons of the Legion expansion.

But before we go, we talk about a not so amazing Blizzard Arcade game called Zombie Hunter RPG! And then we say our weekly goodbyes.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns for the show, feel free to contact us via email at IceBox@FrozeNerdz.com. But without further ado, sit back relax and enjoy Episode 173 of the Frozen Nerdz Podcast!

Here are a few ways you can do that!

Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the Hearthstone universe. We discovered a lot of salt pertaining to the new Druid meta in the Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion.

Top 5 Saltiest Hearthstone Druid Salt

5.) Hasn’t been this bad since the force roar epidemic
4.) I’d like to get back in time for Un’Goro… it was a fun meta, why only 4 months… it deserved more; we deserved more.
3.) being !@#-pounded by decks that require NO HIGH RISK DECISIONS (jade drood, big priest), is $%^-ing boring,
2.) Remember that time Blizzard nerfed Zooloc because they didn’t like the play style of a minion dependent mid-range/control deck? And then two expansions later created Jade Druid?
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*

During the release of StarCraft Remastered, Blizzard hosted an internal StarCraft Demastered art contest. In this contest, employees were encouraged to take iconic moments in StarCraft and remake them in an old art style. The whole album is hilarious, but the winner is amazing! Check them all out here.

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

This past week for a short period of time, Kel’thuzad was on the PTR for players to check out and test. After being playable at Gamescom, it didn’t come as a surprise for most that he will be going live here shortly. Check everything out about the latest PTR here!

Meta is every changing in all video games these days, and Hearthstone is no exception. But over on Reddit, players started a thread talking about just that, and it has a pretty comical gif attached to it. But the Nerdz sit down and talk about how meta is created by the player base and not by Blizzard. But if you want to join in on the discussion, check out the thread on Reddit here.

The rumor mill is working overtime when it comes to Diablo speculation. Since before BlizzCon 2016, people have been trying to find any glimmer of light letting us know what may be coming next. And once again, people are looking at the job postings on the Blizzard Careers page, and players are hoping for at least a Diablo II Remastered! But, what will we get at BlizzCon this year? More story, additional lore, new expansion, or a Diablo 4?!

Overwatch News Banner

Deathmatch went live on severs this past week. And it is getting mixed reviews from the player base. Some say it’s a great way to blow off steam, and for others it’s causing a increase in steam being produced as their blood pressure rises! If you’ve gotten a chance to play it, what did you think?

Junkertown hits the PTR! And things appears to be coming up… explodey! From the new Deathmatch map to Junkertown, it appears that Blizzard is creating new maps faster. So does that mean we will see another map release at BlizzCon?! And with the map hitting the PTR, it was discovered that Blizzard made a mistake with the terminology about “take out” food verses the Australian saying of “take away” food. It was corrected in game. Blizzard has done a great job across Overwatch making sure it matches the cultures it’s representing.

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) Patch 7.3 hits live servers. What were our first impressions?!
2.) The Secret Finding Discord server is at it again!
3.) Our Pros and Cons of Legion

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game: Zombie Hunter RPG Official 0.2V
Type: RPG
Creator: SRPHFlounder
Kilroy’s Review: “Strange game, you queue in as a type of robot to take out zombies and kill your opponents, with the goal of completing a gauntlet/maze before they do.  No it looks fun on paper but the leveling system in it is absolutely too slow and the map layout is incomplete so you really won’t be able to go anywhere,  It is likely this game is still in beta so its not a game you could really go out and spend hours of your time truly digging in and enjoying it to the fullest until the map is completed.  Overall we did not rate this one too favorably but it could have plenty of room for growth in the future.”

Episode 172 – “Building A Snowman”

Welcome to the Frozen Nerdz Podcast Episode 172 called “Building a Snowman.” We are your Blizzard Entertainment discussion podcast. The show you are about to hear was recorded on Sunday, August 27th, 2017.

On this week’s show, we quickly go over our past week in video games before we move onto weekly Top 5 saltiest list from the Overwatch universe, and then we jump into our Blizzard Entertainment discussion. This week we talk more about the BlizzCon key art, StarCraft Co-Op is going primal, Kel’thuzad is breaking from of Naxxarmas and headed to the Nexus, Hearthstone captures our hearts, we are going to Junkertown in Overwatch, a new Mei animated short, and big changes coming to Mercy on the PTR,  then we move onto our World of Warcraft discussion. This week we talk about the arrival of Patch 7.3, and what you can expect with it’s August 29th release!

But before we go, we talk about another amazing Blizzard Arcade game called Queen’s Game! And then we say our weekly goodbyes.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns for the show, feel free to contact us via email at IceBox@FrozeNerdz.com. But without further ado, sit back relax and enjoy Episode 172 of the Frozen Nerdz Podcast!

Here are a few ways you can do that!

Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the Overwatch universe. We discovered a lot of salt pertaining to the changes coming to Mercy on the PTR. The community is out in full force to show their hate. And we enjoy a good laugh!

Top 5 Saltiest Mercy Posts

5.) Mercy2.0 will ruin balance even more.
4.) Honestly to me, Mercy is dead. She will just become another “Healer” but more of a DPS healer like Ana .
3.) Yeha, I absolutely hate this res now. I won’t be playing her anymore.
2.) if this goes live, Pharah Mercy will be meta, thats my prediction since you can res her mid-air
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*

The BlizzCon 2017 key art is here! But it appears to be missing something?! Where’s our StarCraft character?! Probius is representing Heroes of the Storm.

With the recent launch of StarCraft remastered, we didn’t think we would see anything from Blizzard at Gamescom from the StarCraft universe. We were wrong! They announced that the next Co-Op Commander Dehaka is coming! This primal zerg is ready to destroy and eat any enemy in his way! It’s an awesome additional to the co-op game play, and you can watch the video here!

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

A lot of the community saw it coming, and have been asking for it, but Kel’thuzad is coming to the Nexus! And he is bringing his minions with him. Blizzard has been busy with this hero, and there is a lot more to come from them about KT. And we are excited to see it all.

You can check out his reveal here.

You can watch his hero spotlight here.

And in the coming weeks, you will be able to see what Blizzard had to do to bring such an iconic hero from Naxxarmas to the Nexus as Blizzard will be releasing a behind the scenes video series called, “Resurrecting Kel’Thuzad.” And you can keep up with the releases by bookmarking their page here!

Another game that hit us with a semi-surpised smile on our face was Hearthstone coming out of Gamescom 2017. But it was also a little confusing on what it all means?

All we know is, the world fell in love with little Ava, and the cast of new heroes that were shown in the animated short. But don’t worry, this isn’t the last time we will see or hear from them since Blizzard has additional animated shorts and comics coming for us with the theme “Hearthstone in home.”

But what does that even mean?!

Overwatch News Banner

We saw it coming from a mile away. And we had it in our sights since the beginning. Welcome to Junkertown!!! Roadhog and Junkrat get this first cinematic appearance in “live” action as we get the announcement of a new escort map coming to Overwatch. We follower our two junkers to the outback where they need our help escorting an explosive payload to the queen! Check out the video here!

And our favorite frozen nerd got her OWN animated short full of excitement and the feels. It hits us right in our frozen little heart. Check it all out here.

But wait, theres more! Papa Jeff released a new Developer Update talking about the upcoming changes that everyones favorite healer, Mercy, will be experiencing some major changes coming to her ultimate ability, and more. And the community is… salty. Check out the update for yourself and hear it directly from Papa Jeff’s mouth!

World of Warcraft News Banner

Our original plan was to talk about BEYOND 7.3, but we got a surpise Patch 7.3 announcement date from Blizzard this past week at Gamescom. That means, we will move our Legion Pro/Con episode back to next week, and this week we focus on talking about what’s coming in Patch 7.3 and more!

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) Patch 7.3 goes live on August 29th! Everything you need to know right here:

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game: Queen’s Game v0.5
Type: Survival
Creator: Twelve
Kilroy’s Review: “Each player is given a hive queen who has to run and survive from a constant wave of Protoss that are being created by a pylon in the center of the map, develop your economy and strengthen your queen to take out the pylon and you will win this simple but fun game. It is however lacking in the AI department so if you want to play against a challenging AI then you only have to survive the Protoss who are attacking you but you won’t have any team members.”

Episode 171 – “Epic’s Animated Shorts”

Welcome to the Frozen Nerdz Podcast Episode 171 called “Epic’s Animated Shorts.” We are your Blizzard Entertainment discussion podcast. The show you are about to hear was recorded on Sunday, August 21st, 2017.

On this week’s show, we quickly go over our past week in video games before we move onto weekly Top 5 saltiest list from the Overwatch universe, and then we jump into our Blizzard Entertainment discussion. This week we talk more about Blizzards presence at Gamescom 2017 and the possible reveals we may see, then we move onto talking about Epic’s first impression with StarCraft Remastered, some changes on the horizon for StarCraft multiplayer, Legendary lootboxes for FREE in Heroes of the Storm from Amazon Prime, a Blizzard Arcade creator remakes Diablo 2 using StarCraft assets, Deathmatch coming to the Overwatch Arcade, and then we move onto our World of Warcraft discussion. This week we talk about spell changes coming with Patch 7.3, and we talk about the Trial of Style event, and we talk about what we will talk about next week revolving around Legion Pros and Cons.

But before we go, we talk about another amazing Blizzard Arcade game called Tug Defense! And then we say our weekly goodbyes.

Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the Overwatch universe. We discovered a lot of salt pertaining to the upcoming Deathmatch arcade mode that is coming to Overwatch.

Top 5 Saltiest Deathmatch Comments

5.) I have spawned in front of a Torb turret and inside of a Symmetra Car wash. This needs to be addressed.
4.) Currently, a main problem with deathmatch is that it is worth far less than any other gamemode because only one player counts as winning.
3.) Disabling a couple of Symmetra’s abilities wouldn’t hurt either. She’s even more OP in Deathmatch. She got about 3-5 more kills in the match I just played than even the Pharah.
2.) Junkrat Is too Overpowered for Deathmatch
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*

After we recorded Episode 170 last week, Blizzard was like… here, have our Gamescom 2017 schedule! And with that, they revealed that there will be a group of Blizzard developers in attendance to reveal the latest cinematics for the upcoming content they have in the works. That means, one this weeks show we once again talk about the rumors of what may be coming like the new Overwatch map called Junkertown, a new hero coming for Heroes of the Storm, and more. Check out the whole schedule here.

Just when the community was getting use to calling it the Blizzard App, Blizzard announced this past week they will once again be rebranding as “Blizzard Battle.net.” This comes from a lot of talks from the community and a few challenges to rebranding their whole network. Either way, we are happy to have Battle.net back with us… since we never stopped calling it that! Find out more about the rebranding here.

This past week, StarCraft Remastered was released. Epic had the time to sit down and check out the game in all it’s glory. On this week’s show, he gives us a quick break down of what SC:RM looks like, and if you should spend the $15 USD to purchase the game. The answer varies based on your level of love for StarCraft. Love it? Buy it. Just want to be friends with it? Consider it. But you may want to save the cash. It really is just a graphical rework. There is no new gameplay, or campaign. It’s 100% the same game. And that’s why IT’S AMAZING!

With the end of this season of StarCraft esports on the horizon, StarCraft is planning on making some changes to the way that multiplayer works. They are looking at underused units, the strength of the Protoss, and more. We love that StarCraft listens so closely to their esports community, and are making changes accordingly. To find out more about the upcoming changes, check out the discussion here.

Do you want an awesome legendary loot crate in Heroes of the Storm? Do you have Amazon Prime? Then connect your Amazon account with your Twitch account, and get awesome loot! If you don’t have Amazon Prime/Twitch Prime, sign up for Amazon Prime here and support the show!

We have talked about it in the past, but it’s now getting some more light shined on it from the gaming community. For the French Canadian programmer, Etienne Godbout he is taking his love for Diablo II and his ability to program to re-create Diablo II inside the Blizzard Arcade using StarCraft assets. In “The Curse of Tristram,” he rebuilds Diablo II and adds his own personal twist when it comes to loot stats and the community is loving it! Check out this Mashable article talking all about it!

Overwatch News Banner

It was announced a few weeks ago, but we are finally getting caught up with everything outside of Gamescom and BlizzCon rumors, and we a ready to talk about the new arcade map type called Deathmatch. Papa Jeff gives us the rundown in this video so it’s just best to take his word for it!

On this week’s show, we talk about how the Deathmatch mode may cause more problems than we need inside of Overwatch right now. But you have to listen to the episode to hear everything!

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) New Spell effects are coming to some classes in Patch 7.3. Check them out here.
2.) The Trial of Style took place this past week! Check out the Wowhead guide here.
3.) Talks about Next Weeks Legion Discussion post Gamescom!

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game: -+Tug Defense+- v0.15
Type: Tug of War
Creator: Hecsagon
Kilroy’s Review: “This game is your basic 1 lane tug of war,  the goal is to develop your income while optimizing your waves to assault your enemy.  In this tug of war you have 3 tiers of unit builds that can occur based on your income level and point in the game you have reached, all in all this is a sound concept for a tug of war match and has some good qualities to it that make it worthwhile to play if you enjoy this kind of gameplay.”

Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the World of Warcraft universe. We discovered a lot of salt pertaining to the Blizzard release of the most recent in-game mount & pet combo! If you want to pick up the pet, click here!

Top 5 Saltiest Store Mount/Pet Comments

5.) The colors are nice but the price sure isn’t.
4.) The $25 question – does it fly?
3.) Blizzard is getting lazy on their stuff. Where’s the wow factor (pun not intended) to make me part w/ $30
2.)There are no incentives to get wow gold, but there are incentives to get real money. Conclusion Wow token price ascends rises and rises What kind of market liberalists are they, who control prices in this way through other policies
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*

With Gamescom happening on August 22th through the 26th, Blizzard published their list of streamers who will be attendance and helping them with promotion throughout the event. But what does that mean for announcements and information coming?! We aren’t sure. But there are NO Diablo steamers listed?! On this weeks show we talk about our thoughts of what could be coming out of Germany here within the next weeks days. You can check out the list of streamers here!

StarCraft Remastered is now live! If you forget to pick up your copy, you can still purchase it here! With it’s launch after we recorded, we could only talk about the HYPE that’s being created around the launch with a TWO DAY LAN party event that will be featuring StarCraft greats like Legionnaire, Draco, G5, Nyoken, Ret, White-Ra, and the event will be cast by brothers Day9 and Tasteless! And throughout the event, Blizzard will be doing Pizza Supply drops onto people all around the WORLD*! Is that not amazing!? We are both excited to check out SC:RM and can’t wait to talk about it on the show next week!

This past week, Knights of the Frozen Throne was released! Not only did it come with over 100 new cards, tons of awesome legendaries, and the excitement of a new meta, we also got an awesome video from Blizzard! In this video, the Lich King himself took the time to respond to questions, read tweets, and overall grace us with his icy presence. And you know that we love all things cold and chilly, so this video was no exception. What are you doing reading this?! Go watch the video!

With the rumors of something big coming this year at BlizzCon from the Lord of Destruction himself, the internet is a buzz with anything related to Diablo. This week on the show, we talk about Error 37 which almost caused the destruction of Diablo 3 upon release and how Blizzard rallied to save the launch. But one of the big things that helped the franchise was the release of Diablo on consoles like XboxOne and Playstation 4. And with the success of Overwatch on console, could the route that Blizzard takes with future game releases to focused around multiplatform? We talk about that and more on this weeks show!

The Overwatch Summer Games are here! We have talked about them for awhile now, but they have finally arrived, and the skins from this event definitely stole the show! Biker Reaper, Bikini Wearing Widow, Mercy’s Summer Outfit, Solider 76 Ultimate Dad joke, Lifeguard McCree, and more! You have to check them out! Awesome job art team on creating another reason for us to throw money at our computer screens!

Two more teams were announced this past week for the Overwatch League. This time we get Los Angeles, and London! But, London wasn’t taken by the London based esports organization Fnatic, but instead was scooped up by Cloud 9! It’s an interesting move and defiantly gave us a lot to talk about on the show!

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) Warcraft III hits the PTR… wait what?! Is this 2002!?
2.) Another ban wave hits players based on Account Sharing and Real Money Transactions. But this time, sponsors get involved! And Blizzard responses.

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game: Desert Strike Azure
Type: Tug of War
Creator: TerraAzure
Epic’s Review: “Desert Strike Azure is Azures take on a classic map called Desert Strike Queen which came from Brood Wars. It was ported into SC2 and then Azure gave it a twist of his own. In this version, you gain more control over unit movement speeds and unit counters. Overall, this map is INSANELY large, and has definitely taken a lot of work in order create on such a large scale. There is a solo player mode, so this game has gone the extra mile to make sure these Nerdz are happy! But it is a map that does have a large learning curve, but once you figure it out, it’s super easy to start destroying your enemy!”

Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the Hearthstone universe. We discovered a lot of salt pertaining to the pending release of the Knights of the Frozen Throne!

With BlizzCon less than 100 days away, it’s time to start preparing our minds and bodies for the experience. On this week’s episode, we break down what we found out at BlizzCon 2016, and then go over what our thoughts and predictions are for BlizzCon 2017! With StarCraft: Remastered on the horizon, we are now just days away from getting to experience it in all of its awesomeness! But in the heart of South Korea, over 10,000 people gathered this past weekend to celebrate the launch and the history of esports with some epic battles from returning pros. StarCraft esports is alive and well, and won’t be going anywhere soon!

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

This past week, it was discovered on the Heroes of the Storm PTR that there was a bug that was causing heroes to have poorly photoshopped mustaches on their faces. We aren’t just talking about the men, but also the women! It’s a hilarious bug, but it makes us wonder… how did this happen? And what does this mean for us in the future?! Kilroy thinks McCree is on his way, and Epic just makes bad facial hair jokes.

It seems like they have been revealing cards for the past month, but the wait is finally over! The Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion is coming to us on August 10th, 2017!  We are one step closer to having Death Knights in the tavern, but not just yet! If you haven’t already, you can still pre-purchase 50 packs of cards and get the exclusive cardback!

But just when you thought the hottest thing coming out of the Hearthstone camp this past week was the card reveals, Ben Brode drops another hot jam off his upcoming mix tape! Check out Arthas today!

Overwatch News Banner

It was announced late last week that the Overwatch Summer Games event will be coming back this year! This time it starts on August 8th and will run until August 28th, 2017! Not only are the 2016 cosmetic items returning at a discounted rate, there will also be new awesome items to gain! This is the first repeat event for Overwatch, and it’s bringing a twist to it. Last year, we got our hands on a play mode called, “Lucio Ball.” This year, you will be able to play a ranked version of the game and gain competitive points towards your next (or first!) golden weapon! But, with that, the community isn’t always happy with these types of rewards? Do you think this is the way it should be handled?

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) The August 3rd Legion Q&A Recap

Hear it from Blizzard themselves and  watch the VOD here!

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game:  Cruiser Commander Condition Zero v.0.10
Type: Strategy
Creator: Alien
Kilroy’s Review: “This is a completely unique game to the starcade in the fact that it is a space battle setup.  You have to use your armada to take control of asteroids and beat your opponent.  There is a ton of detail in this game and it has clearly taken the developer a lot of time to get all the aspects of this game worked out.  When you first step into this game it is very important to use the tutorial system otherwise it will be entirely too confusing for you to play,  It is very worth the play however it is kind of a challenging game and will require some time to do a match so be ready for that.  Overall we enjoyed this game but it did have some flaws.”
