Here are a few ways you can do that!

Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the Overwatch universe. We discovered a lot of salt pertaining to ‘Has anyone else been experiencing a sudden influx of “Waiting for Players” games recently?’

Top 5 Saltiest Waiting for Player Complaints.

5.) I kinda don’t get why there’s even a “waiting for players” mode
4.) Everyone’s playing Breath of the Wild.
3.) Maybe this is what I suspected would happen. Server browser would kill QP.
2.) Working as intended.
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*

BLIZZCON 2017 has been announced! ALL ABOARD THE HYPE TRAIN!!!! Yes, that’s right, thousands of nerdz will be invading Anaheim, CA again this year on November 3 – 4, 2017. Also Blizzard wanted to give everyone a heads up that there will be changes coming to the contests are BlizzCon this year, so if you are interested in being a participant in the contest, you may want to keep a close eye on upcoming announcements around them.

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

This past week, the Hereos team announced the return of the For Azeroth! event for those players that missed it. It will be extended until Sunday, March 26. So this time, don’t hesitate and finish out your 15 matches using Warcraft heroes with friends before it goes away forever!

This year, we will be having the Frozen Nerdz Heroes of the Dorm Bracket Challenge! Points don’t matter, but only the winners. Epicinsanity picked UC Irvine, and Kilroy selected Illinois to go all the way! Who will be the winner this year?! Find out at the Grand Finals on April 8th!

This past week during a Hearthstone live stream, more cards we revealed for the upcoming Hearthstone expansion called Journey to Un’Goro. If you want to check out the broadcast, you can find it here. Or if you don’t have time to watch the whole VOD, you can check out the cards itself here!

We’ve talked about the end of Season 9 c0ming, and we have talked about what’s coming for Season 10, but we have more exciting New’s about S10! And that’s Seasons are finally coming to consoles!!!! It’s exciting to see that Blizzard is giving some love to the console community, but they are also giving all Diablo players exciting new things with season 10 such as cosmetic rewards, season journey rewards, seasonal conquests and more! For more information about Season 10, check out the blog article here!

Overwatch News Banner

This past week a very little known Overwatch pro team “Meta Athena” which is mainly comprised of Korean High School students is sweeping the APEX Tournament with some insane meta breaking gameplay. No only did they take out one of the top teams, they have their sights on winning the whole tournament. Check out some of their insane play here.

Orisa activates today!

Very often the Overwatch team listens to the complaints of players, and in the latest PTR build they are doing just that. They are adding a  “tracking system has been added to Assault and Assault/Escort Maps that will allow us to break ties based on the progress that was made toward capturing the objective.” Even thought community wanted change, some of the changes that have been seen on PTR is causing more problems than good. If you want to check out the PTR notes and help Overwatch test head over here and help out!

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) Last weeks IceBox poll: Would you watch a Blizzard Controlled and sponsored #Warcraft World First raid race? Results here.
2.) Legion Q&A with Matt Goss! Recap here.
3.) Patch 7.2 flagged as a release candidate. When will it release?!

This weeks IceBox Twitter Poll: Are you bored with the current world content in legion?

It’s that time of the year again when we hear about what’s next for the Rock the Cabinet contest. This year brings a whole new concept by it being based around Co-op missions! Like previous years, creators will have the chance to walk away with $10,000 USD, tickets to a future BlizzCon, and a chance to sit down and have a developer jam session with Blizzard themselves! If you are a Blizzard Arcade creator, take the time to read over the full details of the contest, and we will see you inside the StarCrade!

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game: Burning Swarm
Type: Co-Op
Creator: VioletAiur
Details: It seems that Amon is creating a new Hybrid KRONOS to rule Zerg Swarm in Char. Hybrid KRONOS would dominate Zerg Swarm with its powerful psionic energy. Can you deal with Amon’s strong army and supernatural Hybrid KRONOS, both of them? The destiny of Koprulu is in your hand!  This game is a straightforward Co-Op RTS with the factor of having to counter and dodge the incoming abilities of the boss. Thankfully the creator of this game has created a single player option for testing, so it allows for more play time and less downtime waiting for the game to fill.

Then we move onto our Blizzard Entertainment discussion where we talk changes to Warcraft esports, Heroes of the Dorm date and location revealed, the Hearthstone Global Games voting has started, Diablo Season 9 is coming to an end, a new Overwatch digital comic has arrived as well as two important forum posts by Jeff Kaplan, and then we move onto our World of Warcraft discussion. This week we talk about our IceBox poll from last week about addons, then we talk about the PVP Legion Q&A, then Blizzard dropping the ban hammer slightly on some folks.

Here are a few ways you can do that!

Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the Warcraft universe. We discovered a lot of salt pertaining to Real Life money service sellers. Details found here.

Top 5 Saltiest Real Life Money Seller comments

5.) What about the people that only did gold sales but still got banned?
4.) Only did “gold” sales. Lol. Okay buddy, get out with playing the victim.
3.) ”top raiding guilds” ahaha like raiding guilds matter anymore, everyone is using raid finder noone cares about those oldschool outdated nerds
2.)But at the end of the day, what is the difference between selling runs for gold and runs for real money?
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*

During this past week’s Legion Q&A, one of the members of the Warcraft esports team got a chance to revealed the changes coming to WoW esports! A lot of these changes appears to be widely appreciated by the top WoW esports players themselves, so the changes must be good. Some of the changes are that they are moving over to a point system similar to that of StarCraft WCS that gives teams points for winning tournaments, which includes Blizzard and community approved events. They are also increasing the amount of money players can make from these battles, and are allowing 12 teams to compete at the Global finals instead of just the previous 8. With all these PVP arena changes coming to WoW esports, when will the PVE community start getting in on the action? To find out more about these changes, and to join in on the conversation, check out this blog article here!

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

This past weekend the Heroes of the Dorm date was revealed as well as the location of this years event! It appears that Heroes of the Dorm will be returning to Vegas the first weekend in April (April 8th). Similar to last year, the event will also have it’s 2017 Bracket Challenge. The challenge follows similar rules of the NCAA March Madness challenge where it matches up the teams and you pick the winners with hopes of getting the grand prize. This year Blizzard will be giving away $10,000 to the winner of the challenge, as well as Kerrigan Cheerleader skin codes to the Top 500 finishers. But that’s just for the fans at home, for the players in the tournament, they will be fitting for college tuition! Could you imagine telling your parents that you got your college paid for by playing a video game?! If you want to find out more about Heroes of the Dorm, or make your Bracket, head over to this article and start today!

Following a similar format of the Overwatch World Cup from last year, this year the Hearthstone team has announced the Hearthstone Global Games. The event will host players from all over the globe, but its not based on their win rating, its all based on their community appeal because the fans of the game are the ones voting on who is going to be representing their country at the tournament! On the Hearthstone page, players are asking to represent their countries and looking for your vote and support! For more information about the Hearthstone Global Games and to vote on your favorite player head over here!

Thanks to an email this week, Epic and Kilroy both make up a voter request for the other person. Kilroy starts it off, but Epic quickly jumps in with his own support request. You will definitely want to listen to our IceBox segment of the show this week to find out what was said in the heat of the moment!

Season 9 is coming to an end on March 17th, and Season 10 will be starting on March 30th. With the season ending, you can check out where you, or your favorite Diablo player ranks on the seasonal leaderboards. But it also means that you have until March 17th to complete this seasons Conquests! So if you have been slacking like these nerdz, now is time to put the grind to the brimstone and get this work done! Don’t hesitate, get into Sanctuary today! More information about the season ending can be found here!

Overwatch News Banner

It wouldn’t be a week, or a show without more news coming from the Overwatch camp. This week is a little different because we aren’t talking about hackers or wearing any tin foil on our heads, but we did get a new digital comic called “Binary” that features Bastion and Torb! It’s a new story that we haven’t heard before, and gives more insight into Bastion! You can read it here!

But also this week, Jeff Kaplan went to the forums to let us all know that Orisa isn’t coming to live just yet due to an extended testing period! This is exciting news because it truly means that the Overwatch team is listening to the community about how fast new heroes are being released onto live servers. But that’s not all that Jeff had to say on the forums this week, he also asked players to stop abusing the server browser, and custom games for farming XP. He came out to ask the community to help police the system because if it’s not control, or stopped, custom games could lose their ability to reward XP all together which would result in less players actually participating in this style of game play. So if you see cheaters, report them before we all lose this awesome style of game play!

But that also brings up our next project we are working on at FrozeNerdz. And that’s the Overwatch Arcade! The Overwatch Arcade will be a YouTube video series that is released every Friday that showcases on game from this past week’s server browser. These games are created by members of the community and are a blast to play! Using a similar ranking scale as the StarCade, Epicinsanity will be playing, ranking and showing you why these game modes are successful or not! Find out more about the Overwatch Arcade by checking out our intro video here:

Or you can check out the main page, or follow us on Twitter at @OverwatchArcade today!

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discuss the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) The PVP #LegionQA with Holinka! Check out the video here!
2.) Last week’s IceBox Poll: Would you be able to play #Warcraft without your addons? Results here!
3.) World of Warcraft takes action against players who are selling raid carries, arena boosts, and other in-game services for real life money. Details found here.

This week’s IceBox Twitter Poll:

It’s that time of the year again when we hear about what’s next for the Rock the Cabinet contest. This year brings a whole new concept by it being based around Co-op missions! If you are a Blizzard Arcade creator, take the time to read over the full details of the contest, and we will see you inside the StarCrade!

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game: Weathered Shelter
Type: Co-Op
Creator: DeProgrammer
Details: This is a 2017 Rock the Cabinet contest entry.  This game is  slower paced but is entirely doable as a solo mission if you choose AI. The AI doesn’t really take part in doing the objectives. The story behind this map is pretty interesting and has some really cool layers to it.  The primary objective of this map is to find and destroy old Terran power plants and build new ones in their places.  This leads way to a destabilization of an anti warp field, which allows Protoss forces to warp in and attack you. Normally this wouldn’t be a big deal, but you are already having to deal with Amon’s forces coming at you in waves throughout the entire campaign.  You will lose the game if your base is destroyed or if 2 of the new power plants get destroyed.  But you will win if all the old plants get replaced in time.  Overall this game has a solid showing for a Co-op game, it even comes with its own voice overs to help tell you the story. The lack of AI impacted it but overall this game was super fun for us to play.

Episode 146 – “Don’t Be A Todd”

Welcome to the Frozen Nerdz Podcast Episode 146 called “Don’t Be A Todd.” We are your Blizzard Entertainment discussion podcast. The show you are about to hear was recorded on Sunday, February 26th, 2017.

On this week’s show, we quickly go over our past week in video games before we move onto another one of our Warcraft Top 5 Saltiest lists of the week and introduce another living Warcraft meme. Then we move onto our Blizzard Entertainment discussion starting with a impressive ending to a global StarCraft match, an impressive feedback post from the Heroes community, a professional Hearthstone player goes into retirement, botters becoming a problem in Diablo seasons, Overwatch wins two new awards, Korean Overwatch hackers now being tracked by their government, more rumors coming out of Numbani, and then we move onto our World of Warcraft discussion. This week we talk about the PVP community being upset about upcoming changes, then we offer up another Warcraft twitter poll, then we talk about this last weeks Legion Q&A.

But no episode would be complete without discussing another Blizzard Arcade game. This week we discuss a 2017 Rock the Cabinet submission called Scavenger Hunt. Then it’s time to say our weekly goodbyes!

If you have any questions, comments or concerns for the show, feel free to contact us via email at IceBox@FrozeNerdz.com. But without further ado, sit back relax and enjoy Episode 146 of the Frozen Nerdz Podcast!

Here are a few ways you can do that!

Each and every week we scour news articles and Blue posts looking for this week’s Top 5 list! This week our Top 5 List comes from the Warcraft universe. We discovered a lot of salt pertaining to something Lore said about…. Todd… If you want to find out more about Todd, check out this forum article!

Top 5 Saltiest Todd Comments:

5.) I hate Todd Before we were wiping at 1% continuously because Todd only got 34 points instead of 54 like everyone else in the raid, but now we have a much harder time carrying Todd.
4.) Screw Todd. Get him off my team and bring in someone who has the time and gear to do the work. Todd can go find himself a home in a less progressed guild of like minded and geared players. WE DON”T WANT TODD.
3.) …..who the flying fresh squeezed orange juice is Todd?
2.) I hope Todd gets /gkicked
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*

This past week in StarCraft Global play, Ryung uses his insane ubermicro to secure a victory by using his marines. Using marines to win a match isn’t something new for the StarCraft scene, but it is something you rarely see happen in this high level of play. Check out this Twitch video of the action, and see for yourself!

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

It’s not every day that the community sits back and provides constructive feedback to game developers, so when a positive constructive feedback post formed on the forums this past week, it caught the attention of many members within the Heroes community. The player talk about heroes that need reworks, balances, and improvements to increase their competitiveness within the current meta and hero play. If you want to see what quality feedback looks like, or want to add to the discussion, head over to the forums to do so!

We’ve talked about Hearthstone card bloat and current state of imbalance on the show before, but now we have one Hearthstone professional player who says he’s walking away from the game for that very reason. ‘Lifecoach’ has announced this past week that he will be giving up Hearthstone due to the imbalance. In his video, he tells the audience how he will never again be talking, or playing Hearthstone because he says “I really have to assume that they are either not capable of changing that or that they are not willing to do that.” To hear it for yourself, check out his video here.

Diablo is a game created around mostly single player content and is well known for it’s never ending grind of content that drives players insane. But some players are taking it to the next level and using bots to farm their gear, and make it so that they can push rank during the current season ladder play, and like always this cheating has infuriated the community. “Play nice, play fair” is one of Blizzards mottos, but they haven’t done anything about it yet, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not on their radar. If you want to see what the community is saying, or add more about how much cheaters suck, you can add those comments to this article here!

Overwatch News Banner

There are a few contests in the Overwatch world as of late. Besides cheaters and rumors about the next hero, the Overwatch universe is full of …. awards! This past week Overwatch walked away with the most coveted DICE game award! The award was so special that Jeff Kaplan left his recording studio to actually accept the award in person at the event! The DICE awards are presented by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, so they are totally legit unlike the Frozen Nerdz Game of the Year award! If you want to check out the other winners, you can see the list of them here!

But it wouldn’t be another week without Overwatch cheater talk, and this week is no different. It was announced this past week that Blizzard and the South Korean government are working together to crack down on the cheating in their PC Bangs. Going forward players will have to use their Korean Social Security number in order to play Overwatch at the PC bangs, and will have to personally own the a copy of the game to play on other region servers. This is a huge step in the right direction! If you want learn more about this and banning, check out this article here!

But now its Overwatch rumor time! It wouldn’t be a week without the stock cost of tinfoil to go through the roof! This past week Blizzard shared an Overwatch news article about a young up and coming scientist called Efi. She specializes in robotics and onimic technology and is taking a trip shortly out of Numbani. But while she is at the airport, there is an incident and Doomfist’s glove is now missing! There is a lot of speculation going around right now, but all we can do is wait a see! You can find out more about Efi here, and what’s going on in Numbani here. But hopefully we will be finding out more about all of this shortly!

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) The WOW PVP community is upset…. again. Details.
2.) Our Weekly PVP related Twitter Poll!
3.) We discuss this past week’s Legion Q&A! Recap here.

You can also listen to Epicinsanity give a recap of this Q&A by listening to S02E18 of the Epic Questions podcast! Details here.

Game: Scavenger Hunt
Type: Co-op commander mission
Creator: Azureguy
Details: This is a Rock the cabinet 2017 submission for creating a Co-op commander mission to test what a pair of friends can do.  Object of this mission is to protect a character named Christopher while he collects things that were lost in a crash landing of his ship, amon’s forces are working to prevent you from getting to them and its up to you to work quickly to build a base and start producing troops quickly as the game takes off at a breakneck pace.  The main guy you have to protect puts himself in danger rather quickly and it takes a ton of coordination to bring together enough forces to protect his initial push to a missing item.  The already established enemies have stronger forces than you at the start which can make this difficult.  With a team mate it makes this more feasible, however there is currently no AI in the game to allow for you to play with an AI on your team and come out ahead so you will have to do it all alone.  Overall this is a crazy mission invoking real challenges and was worth playing for both of us as we worked as a team trashing the enemies and playing like pros.

Weekly Top 5

Top 5 Saltiest Roadhog  Change Comments

5.)Wow. Just wow, I HATE this guy with a passion. He’s not broken anymore, he’s just overpowered. I can hear the Roadhog mains now crying “why are you out of position?”, I’m NOT out of position. Roadhog is just broken, and can 1v1 all the heroes on the roster without a problem.
4.) Make another 100 threads about how he’s OP and maybe Blizzard will do something about it.
3.) About time you do something to Roadhog Why do you allow a character that goes against the whole point of this game to stay the way he is?
2.)Spamming these bullpoop threads is more fun than playing as or against this terrible mistake of a hero that is Roadhog.
1.) *To hear #1, listen to this week’s episode!*

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

“Can’t stop, won’t stop” should be one of the motto’s for the Heroes of the Storm team, mainly because they refused to stop making content for the game! Just shortly after the announcement of Valera coming to the game from World of Warcraft, the next hero is waiting on deck to enter the Nexus straight from Overwatch! Lucio will join Zarya and Tracter as the third hero to be added to the Nexus. He will bring a whole new play style of healing while he breaks it down, and boops players around the map. This different type of play style has just hit the PTR for everyone to check out!

Hearthstone is one of Blizzard’s only single players currently in their list of successful games, but that’s about to change on the esports scene. This past week it was announced that Blizzard will be hosting a new style of tournament that put players up against players from all over the world representing their own countries as a team. Does this change to the Hearthstone esports scene solve on the problems with the current state of the game? Find out more on this on the show as we talk about this article.

Following the Necromancer Q&A that happened a few weeks ago, Diablo has come out to let us know what else they are working on going forward for Patch 2.5.0! Instead of just gear upgrades, they will also be introducing a new armory feature in the game that allows players to create saved armory sets similar to World of Warcraft, and also making it so that new reagents that are gained are added directly to your stash verses filling up your bags. To find out more than about this besides our discussion on the show, you can check out this article here!

Overwatch News Banner

Hacking is not something new to Overwatch, and it’s not a new topic of discussion on the show. Every few weeks we talk about the different types of hacks and cheats that players are using in Overwatch. This week is no different unfortunately…. It’s been reported that in the month of January that over 32,000 Overwatch accounts have been banned for cheating in Korea alone! This plays into the fact that players in Korea don’t have to buy full versions of the game instead they actually pay a small fee in order to play per hour of the game inside their “PC Bangs” aka internet cafe’s. If you want to find out more information about the hacking problem in Korea, check out this article here!

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) Thousands of Warcraft accounts banned for botting. Details.
2.) The World First Race comes to an end! Congrats Exorsus! Details.
3.) Patch 7.2 Discussion — Incoming Legendaries!

It’s that time of the year again when we hear about what’s next for the Rock the Cabinet contest. This year brings a whole new concept by it being based around Co-op missions! Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game: Line Tower Wars: Redux TD v1.3
Type: Tower Defense
Creator: Kida
Details: It’s a tower defense game, like all tower defense you build towers to defeat waves of enemies.  This however is the type of tower defense where your opponent spawns the waves of enemies by choice and you have to control how you upgrade your towers and the rate at which you spend your resources to build towers and spawn enemies.  As you spawn enemies you will get more resources every income phase which in turn helps you build and upgrade towers.  Try to put all that you can into a single upgrade tree for the towers so that you are not overrun by your enemies. This game has a solid AI and if you don’t get an early jump on it they will give you a good run for your money and it definitely makes the game worth playing by yourself.

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game: Zerus Assault v1.4
Type: Strategy
Creator: TiBzZO

Details: Not every game in the Starcade is a game that is built to be different from the normal RTS sometimes they take directly from the regular starcraft RTS and add new challenges for the players.  This game involves 2 aspects, one is a constant assault on a Terran AI who is your ally, they are land locked from you and you can aid them directly so you have to indirectly stop the zerg onslaught before they happen. Seems reasonable but in addition to that you are also being assaulted by a protoss army that is far more formidable and advanced than you are from the start, so you have to be mindful of building base defenses asap otherwise you will get eradicated almost immediately and the game will be a loss.  Overall this game is very difficult and provides interesting challenges at first, but once you overcome them the skill requirement drops off fairly fast and can leave you wondering if the game is finished yet.

Game: Trancespace Fortress v1.10
Type: Strategy
Creator: Galdios

Details: The primary object of this game is to build structures that will automatically run zealots up a lane that is assigned to you.  You must use your hero that you select at the beginning of the game to assist your zealots in wiping out the terran forces. Some neat aspects to this game are when you destroy a building you gain mineral increase based off of the number of buildings that you own.  Be sure to rush in to take as many buildings as you can between waves so that you can upgrade your buildings to higher levels.  Great game in concept however there is 1 major problem  there are 3 lanes to defend and if you queue solo you will be unable to defend all 3 lanes, be sure to bring a friend as the AI in this game currently only works on the Terran side.  If you want an extreme challenge you can try and solo this game but it is strongly advised you bring others.  Definitely a good game build so far and can’t wait to see improvements by the creator.

With the Diablo 20th Anniversary, Diablo has invaded all of the other Blizzard games in celebration. This past week, we returned to Tristam for an Old School Diablo experience, we discovered a special hidden level inside World of Warcraft, and a lucky Tavern Brawler discovered the Dark Wanderer inside of Hearthstone.

Game: Starship Troopers OP extended v0.18
Type: Survival
Creator: JenyaRostov

Details: This game is a great example of survival mode maps.  It is setup and configured in such a way that adds will spawn from 4 corners of the room based on the number of people in your party.  Work together with your party members, to pool resources and build a defensive grid.  The game ends when you manage to take out the enemy bases, defeat all the waves, or your base is destroyed.  There are additional modifiers to the game beyond just selecting your initial starting hero which will add more to the game mode and increase or decrease the challenge.  Overall this game is actually quite difficult and worth checking out.

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

Even though there aren’t seasons in the Nexus, the Heroes of the Storm team added a new…. Snowbrawl to the game for this week. If you were lucky enough to check it out you found out quickly that it had a nice spin to the classic MOBA style game where you could select different snow balls on the map to destroy your enemies with either single shots, or some massive AOE damage! But this new brawl brings up the discussion on different seasons that could be brought to the Nexus in order to change the look and feel of the different maps as the year goes on. To find out more about this discussion listen to this week’s episode as these icy nerdz talk about their thoughts of snow covered maps in Heroes!

On December 31st, 1996 the Lord of Terror was first released on Sanctuary. And over the past 20 years, we have made numerous memories within the Cathedral, Tristam and beyond. But Blizzard decided to take it one step further and decided to add Diablo to Heroes of the Storm, StarCraft, Hearthstone, Overwatch and World of Warcraft. Each game is getting a different type of event in order to showcase some of the awesome aspects of Diablo in their own way. If you want to see the list of what’s coming, check out this article over at Diablo Fans!

Overwatch News Banner

With most of Blizzard on break for the holiday’s, there wasn’t any direct news available about Overwatch this week, but the nerdz took this time to talk about what we could see, and what they would like to see coming in 2017 for the game. Epic already makes the call out of Game of the Year again… even though that’s not possible! Hear the whole discussion about better testing by players, to new maps, to wonderful make believe heroes on this weeks episode.

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) World of Warcraft is being added to the California Computer History Museum. Details.
2.) With 2017 upon us, what could be in store for Azeroth? The nerdz talk about just that this week on Episode 138!

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game: USA v1.12
Type: Control Map
Creator: DarcZaFire

Details: Interesting game, the map is set up to look exactly like the Main part of the USA, the map is broken down by 48 states with 48 supply depots with 1 major objective capture as many as you can and defeat your opponent using your gradually increasing resources from capturing the map around you.  Some strategy is necessary to dominate your opponent and using the continent to your advantage plays a huge role in doing this correctly. Some tips for those who would embark on playing this, the more supply depots you can get into view at 1 time the faster you can churn out marines to take over the map, and it is important to not expand in a way that makes it hard for you to defend your back line.  Overall this game is fast paced and is an excellent smash and grab land rush, the lack of AI makes this game require others to play with but the more you get the harder and more exciting this game becomes.

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

2016 has been a rough year for a lot of people, but Heroes of the Storm has been producing content and hosting amazing tournaments! But that doesn’t prevent people from taking their team and leaving the scene. This past week it was announced that Team Liquid will no longer be supporting their Heroes Team. But that doesn’t mean that the Heroes community or esports scene is coming to an end. In 2017, Heroes plans to make it so that their competitive esports teams will be receiving a base salary. Because of this there will be a shift in being required to have a team organization to being individually owned. But don’t take our word for it, check out the article here!

Diablo News Banner

This past week the Diablo team took to Facebook in order to address some of the latest community concerns. They answered a lot of specific questions about upcoming changes to gear sets, legendary’s and more. The biggest thing that was discussed was the end of the current season and the start of the next, but if you want to check out the whole Q&A here!

Overwatch News Banner

It wouldn’t be Winter without an event from the Overwatch Team! This past week we were introduced to the Winter Wonderland which included 100 new cosmetic items ranging from new skins, voice lines, hero intros, and more! With the Winter Wonderland we also got the Mei Snowball Offensive which is a 6v6 single elimination brawl featuring ONLY Mei where you get one single shot to kill your opponent. But with the event, came some scrutiny from the community on Mei’s holiday skin. Her skin is basically just a recolor of her basic starter skin, and the community isn’t happy. But Jeff Kaplan went on to say, “Coolness is very subjective, and based off of the community reaction it seems like our gauge was off on this one.”

We just finished the Sombra ARG and it appears the community is already taking a dive towards the next thing they are trying to cook up. This time it involves a visit to Blizzard Headquarters by Terry Crews. They are assuming that he is either there to voice Doomfist, make Doomfist, or model for Doomfist, or maybe because the new Orc statue, or who knows. But like the community does, they went down the rabbit hole. You can check out more about of the tin foil hat pipe dream here.

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week we discussion the following topics about World of Warcraft:

1.) Nighthold is releasing January 17th! Details here.
2.) Changes coming to the current Legendaries in Patch 7.1.5. Data mined info here.
3.) Nerf’s coming to Trials of Valor. Details here.

“Twas the Night Before Winter Veil” — Overwatch Edition

Originally Written by Clement C. Moore. Rewritten by Epicinsanity and Kilroy

‘Twas the night before Winter Veil, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care
In hopes that St. Roadhog soon would be there;
The heroes were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of multi-kills danced in their heads;
And Ana in her kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our minds for a long winter’s nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I sprinted like the flash,
Flung open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the drifts of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to the objectives below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature payload, and Six tiny heroes,
With a chubby old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Hog.

More rapid than eagles his heroes they came,
And he grunted, and shouted, and called them by name:
“Now, Sombra now, Tracer now Winston, and Mercy!
On, Hanzo and Genji!
To the top of the point! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!”
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, they fly to the sky;
So up to the house-top the heroes they flew,
With the sleigh full of loot boxes, and St. Roadhog too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and leaping of each big boot.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Roadhog came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of loot boxes he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a dealer just opening his pack.
His eyes–how they leered! his belly how massive!
His face was all covered, his nose like a pig!
His oinkish little mouth was sewn up like a wound,
And the mask on his chin was as black as Reapers soul;
The chunk of a candycane he held tight in his hand,
And the smoke encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a mask covered face and a big round belly,
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old junker,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,

“Happy Winter Veil to all, and to all a good-night.”

StarCraft News Banner

After the success of the Nova: Covert Ops Mission packs, the StarCraft 2 team has announced that the next announcer coming to StarCraft will be none other than Nova herself! The community has looked over the voice-lines and has discovered that most of Nova’s voice-lines are hilarious in their own nature due to her lack of real knowledge about the Zerg. If you enjoyed the mission packs, you are in luck because you get this new voice pack for free! So what are you waiting for? Check out the details today!

Also this past week it was announced that the next Co-Op Commander coming to StarCraft will be no other than Stukov the Russian Terran Zerg hybrid! With his interesting units, voice-lines and commands, he is definitely going to be a great addition to the Co-Op scene! If you want to learn more about Stukov and the other Co-Op commanders, check this out!

Heroes of the Storm News Banner

If you want to be special, just like this snow flake, you can be by logging into Heroes of the Storm during the Winter Veil 2016 event! With new portraits, quests, mounts, skins and bundles, there is a lot of new stuff coming to the Nexus this holiday season! And on top of all of that, you can enjoy an additional 25% XP following each game you play! Check out all the amazing new things here!

But with all the excitement sometimes comes sadness. This past week Dustin Browder announced that he will be leaving the Heroes of the Storm team and is going to “take one of those chances to try something new at Blizzard.” We are not sure what that is, but we wish DBro the best with whatever his next adventure may bring! You can read his heartflet good bye here.

Diablo News Banner

After the announcement of the Necromancer DLC at BlizzCon, the Diablo community has been up in arms that there wasn’t a Diablo 4 announcement or at least an expansion. This past week, IGN posted an article about the upcoming Necromancer patch with Matthew Berger where the community took a quote and went on a tinfoil hat ride down the rabbit hole. They are blaming the upcoming DLC for the fact that we didn’t get a Diablo 4 announcement, but after the success of other DLCs in other Blizzard titles and the ongoing content creation by the Diablo team, we have a feeling that Blizzard has something amazing coming for Diablo in the near future. If you want to read the original article, you can find it here. And if you have your tinfoil hat on, you can safely read the community discussions about it!

Overwatch News Banner

This past week Jeff Kaplan from the Overwatch team went to the forums to talk about how not every map in the game needs to have an in-game story-line built around it. Since Overwatch is set on a future installment of earth, it makes sense that not all of the future maps and/or locations require a story since these places already exist. As much as we love new shorts, comics and heroes we should all just be happy that we are getting new maps! You can read the community discussion about it all here.

In typical Overwatch social media fashion, the Overwatch team teases about the upcoming Winter Veil event coming to the game on December 13th. The event doesn’t currently have any leaked information, but we will all know about it when it hits live servers on Tuesday! You can check out the tweet here!

World of Warcraft News Banner

This week’s World of Warcraft discussion topics:

1.) It’s been awhile, but they are back! The discussion of Legacy Servers is back on our Radar… and hopefully Blizzards. Details.
2.) This past week, there was a Legion Q&A that we recap! MMO-Champion recap here.

Blizzard Arcade Coverage Banner

Each week we pick a game from the endless library of the Blizzard Arcade to test them out and help the listeners find some awesome stupidly fun games.

Game:  Ghost Battle Legend V2.4
Type: Arena Survival
Creator: Galdios
Details: This is a fantastic game with a unique concept for how the matches work. You will start off with your ghost and a few talent points to get you started, from there you will have to venture out into a maze of adds and obstacles to collect resources to build yourself up for the arena battle that will take place once the timer runs out.  Do what you can to grab as much as you can because once you enter the arena only 1 character can walk out and they get all the spoils for their effort.  Solid game amazing concept only issue was there is no present AI which means you need to find other people but with a game this great it shouldn’t be a hard task.
